WorldMarket.com has beds at great prices. $400 for the fully upholstered bedframe shown in the above link. I bought this bed last year and love it. It's beautiful, looks much more expensive than it is, super easy to assemble, and goes with everything. I get compliments on it all the time and even my husband loves it. Gender neutral. LOVE this bed!!!

I had this same problem. We bought a HUGE u-shaped sectional in brown so dirt would not show too much. Then it seemed to overwhelm the living room. I've managed to break up the brown by adding other large furniture items in light toned neutrals like white, light grey, beige, and tan (rug, curtains, coffee table). By doing this I can now accessorize with any colors. I have chosen aqua, blues and yellows in muted tones. I've also eliminated any other dark browns from the room. I even painted my dining set a light grey (Martha Stewart - Grey Squirrel) and re-upholstered the dining chairs in a bold blue and white fabric.
