Love the coat rack! I was planning to mount my coat hooks to some salvaged wood but the bright happy hello has stolen my heart!

I moved to Ann Arbor at a bad time for finding apartments. My friends familiar with the area advised me where the student rental area was and to stay out of it.
The apartment I found was just on the edge of that, but still close enough to the university that I found it was nearly all undergraduates in the area. I myself am 23 so I can survive the rabble rousing, but the lack of care most the students have for the place they live has really been a downer.
Broken glass, trash, unkempt houses from landlords that have given up. There's an abandoned mattress next to the house next door. I can't wait to move.

I don't drive and the nearest chain grocery store is a 20 minute walk from my apartment, all the in town shops can supply most of what I need, but not in one stop so I wanted to get a cart to ease schlepping.
My mother convinced me to buy #1, the transit when I was more interested in something like #2.
The transit cart is awkward and has to be pushed in front of you like a stroller. If like me your main need is to transport your purchases then the transit is a huge pain to get on and off of a bus and feels very bulky and attention grabby. I've been much more comfortable with something smaller that I can pull behind me and lift easier. I feel way less conspicuous and dorky being the only 20 something in a college town dragging their groceries home.

Expensive it may be, but as a renter the appeal of being able to do an accent or backsplash is huge! DIY veneer with the ability to remove it, spackle, and paint is awesome in my book!
And if the wood is carefully removed there's a lot of potential for reuse!
I'll be keeping this close in mind when I move to my next apartment.

The peg and string shelves are brilliant! I'm going to add some to my kitchen pegboard this weekend.

I feel like I'm doing my cure all wrong because my living room has been dismantled into a cat tree staining room for the past week. It's going pretty slow but I'm pushing myself to be done by the weekend so I can catch up on the cure! (I desperately want to mop. I can't believe how much I want to mop. I will do anything but trap myself in a fume room right now.)
