Clear your kitchen countertops of all appliances you use on a daily basis (everyone knows that ordinary coffee makers normally live in a cabinet). Set out an enormous Kitchen-Aid and/or the 1000$ espresso maker. If you the green apples don't fit your decor put some (1 cut and some uncut) lemons on a 2 inch cutting board, garnish with the giant meat knife.

Make sure the disprition mentions that your decor has been "collected from her/his/their travels [around the world]".

my objection is not the hygiene but safty!
Depending on the layout of the kitchen (walk-through) it might become a tripping hazard. Especially as some people are allways in a hurry when it comes to cooking, others are chaotic, others have kids /pets. In my experience these anti-slide nets do not work completly (on wood floors).

Nevertheless i like the homy touch balancing with the steel cabinets.

We bought them as bedside lights with energy saving bulbs which was not the best idea: no short use, rather harsh but diffuse light.

But for party lighting i would choose energy saving bulbs. Hidden behind curtains it might give you the soft glow i prefer for ambiance lighting (They do not heat up with the bulbs we use.)

How do clean the inside? Even after vacuuming and akward wiping i don't consider them spotless. I do have small hands but i wonder if I have to dissamble them to give them a dusting.

Has anyone tried coloured vellum on the inside to change the light?

Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Men Create More Housework for Women?

I am a woman and my man wishes he'd get more help. I am responsible for some specific tasks (technical as well als cleaning) but for most of them (cleaning, tiding) I need to be reminded every other day. But all of my results are fully approved (“perfect” / “more than I would have done”).

Not everyone fits the sterotype. Although most people (and therefore most studies) like to simplify things it's time to be more realistic.

The following (additional) options come to my mind:
1) i'm a woman, my man does all the nontechnical, non-car-related, “inner” housework.
1a) it works fine for both of us,
1b) he would rather need my help as (some of) the results are not the way i want it,
1c) he would rather want my help.
2) i'm a woman, my man does ALL the work: the inner house-, yard-/garden-, car-, technical and fixing work
a/b/c/ as above
3) i'm a woman, my man does all the technical, car-/ yard related, work. I ‘m resposible for the inner housework.
a/b/c/ as above
d) I /he would like to switch.
3) I’m a woman, I do some of the inner housework, and some of the technical /science work. He does the rest.
a/b/c/d as above
e) I would rather need my help as (some of) the results are not the way he wants it,
f) I would rather want more help
4-6) I’m a woman, my female partner does …..similar to 1/2/3
7-9) I’m a man, my lady does ….similar to 1/2/3
10-12) I’m a man, my male partner does ….similar to 1/2/3
13) I’m a woman, my man and I have hired help for / ask relatives /friends for
a) regular inner housework
b) peridical inner housework
c) special tasks connceted to cleaning, tiding, organizing, ( personal e.g. changing a light bulb / cleaning the windows)
d) regular technical /yard work e) peridoical rechnical /yard work
e) special tasks connecetd to small repairs (personal e.g. fixing the computer / changing tires for winter)
14) I’m a woman, my femal partner and I have hired help for / ask relatives /friends for as in 13)
15) I’m a man, my lady and I have hired help…
16) I’m a man, my male partner and I have hired help …
17) I’m a woman, I live alone …
a) I do all the work without (personal) help
b) I have hired help / ask relatives/ friends
I) as 13a) II) as 13b) …….
18) I’m a man I live alone .. see 17)

(Note: “I’m biologial a man/ woman but I feel like I ought to be woman/ man” please tick the gender you think you belong to)

19) OTHER, please specify

That doesn’t produce easy to read results but it is closer to the truth than persons selecting an inapropiate answer
(... and it is very pc).

(sorry for the long post and mistakes, English is not my first language)

Jen, that's the price for an A.

If you want the M from the first picture (with 10 drawers - assuming it makes sense to have left the same amount as right) it's 2946 Euro (about 4595 USD at the moment).

I wonder what the shipping costs are, especially if you don't live in a neighboring country.

Pretty pricey for a simple shoe rack!
