I thought sand in sandboxes was a problem...where can you get this safe sand that rural and rueful mentioned?

Sounds like a scam by bed and mattress companies to get people to buy more stuff! I just use slats too and it's fine (and I'm from the US).

We're hoping for a second child and definitely would want them to share, though even though we're both only children, my husband and I have enjoyed sharing a room with each other and now our son - maybe you like it if you shared as a kid and also if you missed out on that chance.

Awesome little house. Can my son come over to play? BTW, my son loves his play kitchen because it is like Dada's kitchen. The fact that he calls it Dada's kitchen made me realize it's time I start doing some of the cooking too! Otherwise he'll think it's just a guy thing and women don't cook.

Wow, you need to have thick skin to post on this site...I was thinking of submitting the room I put together with love for my son, but I'm not sure I'm ready to deal with nasty comments. Wendy, the room is neither pretentious nor sad nor too-grown up. It's a lovely little room. My favorite parts are the cool ladder and the fact that you incorporated pink (like the bean bag chair) into a boys' room. It's my son's favorite color (he especially likes pink sparkley shoes) and it's nice to see a less masculine but boy-friendly room.

I like the wall mounted wire baskets too. PBK has ones like the photo but they were pricey, so I got one for $7 that is easy to mount at the Container Store for stuffed animals. I like it so much I'm getting one for art supplies next!
