Our 500+ strong DVD collection is always sort of a pain, but many of them are rare or out-of-production films and I find so much value in their contents. In our old condo we took over a shallow linen closet, but after moving this August we're still trying to make something work aesthetically and functionally. My best friend just used Honey Fund (on my recommendation actually!) for her wedding and it was a huge hit. They didn't need any more "stuff" but couldn't afford their dream honeymoon, so it was a perfect fit. The guests thought it was quirky, fun, and a great way to help them off on the right foot in their marriage. I just wanted to throw in here that I have an app called "Home Library" - it was $0.99 and so, so worth it. I use it for our huge DVD collection, but it also categorizes books. You simply use your camera to scan the ISBN and it enters the book details into the library. It's an extremely easy way to catalogue books for on the fly reference, and you can tag them based on where you put them (for instance, if you decide to use a unique organizing system, such as color, you could tag books within the app by "red" "orange" etc) Living with Lots and Lots (and Lots) of Books? This one from Overstock has built in storage, which could house extra blankets and pillows, and if you like the look of the headboard on the wall, it wouldn't be difficult to find an inexpensive upholstered headboard (or make one yourselves - check out www.ikeahackers.net) from Overstock, Amazon, Walmart, Target, etc. Low Cost Guest Room Daybed or Futon?
