Slackerjo, it's respectless to call other people when you are bored and kill their valuable time. When those people call me I don't feel guilty in any way to do household chores.
An old woman in the neighbourhood whom I visit twice a week uses to call me as soon as I enter my flat after work. She starts to talk and ends 40 -60 minutes later. All my friends and family call it a waste of time to phone with the woman but I kill two birds with one stone: I have done my household chores and started preparing dinner and meanwhile I made a lonely woman happy.
It's a matter of differentiation.

I have thousands of old and older books which nobody will ever read again. From 1845 up to now. They were refused by libraries, antiquaries, thrift stores, charity, and even prison libraries.
Blandwagon, I totally agree because I read most of those books and often they have neither something to learn from or literary value.

I will make some planters for those who always whine when I want to give or throw away the books but neither want to read nor to store them.
Funny revenge, yeah! Thanks for inspiration!

Put the cube elsewhere and add a taller plant.
If the Cache-Pot for the plant has the same colors as the mirror the corner would be an eyecatcher.

I agree with the first posting but it has to match with the rest of the room and you have to be content with the result.

Hi, Sarah,
so you were near my hometown. Hope you enjoyed the trip to Black Forest.
I hope you didn't miss to visit Vitra Design Museum as well which is not far from here either.

For over 12 years now we have the same transparent plastic cover you may use for doing a painting job without ruining the floor.

We have it in our car and it was used many times. It already caused great fun, when eight people hid under the cover rushing to the car and saving picnic food and themselves from heavy rain.

At a rainy open-air-concert we made several people glad when we offered them shelter under our plastic cover.

Those 5 $ were well invested.

I absolutely agree to acaj08.
Washing is essential. You'll be surprised how much fabrics will shrink in either way.

I moved 18 times and now have a checklist which I work off.
I start with the cellar where I seperate things which will go with us into the next apartment and which I name as clutter.
The books will follow and other things standing on the book shelves. The shelves will be put together to get space for the filled moving boxes.
Next is the content of the chests of drawers followed by shoes and seasonal clothing.
Then I sort out my papers and put essential documents in one special box which I seperate from the others and indicate for finding it quickly.
After that I pack fragile items which often needs a lot of time. This is the part I dislike most. Hobby material and all entertainment electronics are the next things to be packed.
Then kitchen ware and finally clothes. Picture frames are the last things which are removed and carpets.
When I have finished packing the clutter part in the cellar will have increased and I am glad that it will not fill space in my new home.
While emptying all boards and cabinets I also clean them.
I consider this packing order the most effective for my household.

I agree with jlw0001 and laila.
I'm not bathing every day or every week. There are other possibilities to keep oneself clean. So the argument wasting water is ridicoulous for my bathing habit.
We have a bathtub for handicapped where the water level is really low so that neither children nor senior people can go drowning when getting unconcious. But it is to low to enjoy a relaxing bath.
So I'm thankful for this post and the end of all those ill fitting items we used as a substitute up to now.

More space may easily entrap you to waste it for futile junk.
I can go without a dishwasher but I enjoy to have one.
And a dishwasher prevents you from reflecting on doing something more useful or creative than dishwashing.

I bought mine some years ago at a German Christmas market for about $ 9. I also have one for the top of the Christmas tree.
One of the small pyramids is worked as a lid so you can put a tea light candle in it. But I won't do this, the material will heaten.
It's a fine craft so that the price I paid is very cheep and I think the mnanufacturers are not well paid. The price at Pottery Barn is way to exaggerated.

Never heard of. But I definitely will give it a try.
We hate those artificial odors which should cover bad smells but only make it worse.
Many thanks

A visitor from Japan brought this as a gift for my son appr. 20 years ago.
The poor child had to bear how his father and our visitor were discussing the function over and over.
The clock was used a few fruits and then the contacts were completely oxydized.
