My cat would LOVE to pee on those and ruin them immediately.

Grew up in suburban Chicago (yay Chicago, yuck suburbs.) Moved to Missouri for college, not a good fit politically but loved the outdoor activities. Moved to tiny town in Montana to live in a log cabin, amazing but I was 22 and still wanted to go dancing once in awhile. Moved to Eugene and then Portland, where I've been for 10 years. Found my city-boy husband and am now whisking him away to the Cascades to live in a cabin on acreage and have horses (finally!). Still a day trip from Portland though so we'll be able to go eat fabulous sushi and get gourmet cheese sometimes. : )

Love the stenciling with wood glue idea. Great find too with such beautiful wood underneath! Looks fabulous!

If I went to someone's house and they had this in their kitchen I would back slowly out and call the cops to see what might be buried in their crawlspace.

So many photos of stuff, I kept thinking maybe it was actually a store or workspace and checking back to the post- nope, house tour. Agree with others it would have been nice to see the house.

How gorgeous- love everything! Let us know what railing you go with, I want to see more! Really beautiful and open so far, looks perfect! Finding that brick under the wood paneling is the reason to buy old houses!

We live in a neighborhood in Portland with high rents and few kids and love it! Much prefer the numerous dogs. Of course on the weekends the suburbanites descend with their giant SUVs and broods of children. It's always funny to watch the housewives try to parallel park.

The Lady in White, where the kid gets locked in the coat closet at school overnight and sees a ghost girl re-enact her murder. So scary in 6th grade! Did watch it again not long ago and it wasn't a bad movie actually.

Clean litterbox! But my kitty is old and gets lonely so we take her with on shorter trips. She's a great traveler,
For longer trips we try to schedule cleaners to come a couple of days before we get back, so nice to walk into a freshly cleaned home!

I love this overall, would be interested in figuring out how to make that mirror. But mostly have a question- has anyone here had that kind of river rock floor in a bathroom? What did you think of it? I love the look of it and we're trying to keep our cabin focused around locally-sourced products, so river rock would be awesome.

I love the texture- looks like very nubby grain leather. I want to see more ideas of ways to use this and agree is could be a good way to reclaim wood (as long as it is well-sealed).
