Beaters, too. I have been known to wish aloud for a more prehensile tongue for beaters. Oh, and peaches. I will get every. last. bit. off a peach pit. I have no shame about my food.

Why I Secretly Suck on Mango Pits in the Kitchen (And So Should You)

I unabashedly suck all the good bits off mango pits, and I don't care who sees me. Often it's even at work - my nearest coworker is Indian, and not only is she completely unfazed, she does it too. My boyfriend works in an office down the hall, and he finds it funny. (He also scrapes the pits.)
My most embarrassing food habit is probably constantly checking the color of color changing candy.

I've had some TERRIBLE landlords. I consider them pre-karma for the one I have now - the best landlord I've ever had. He's next door, fixes EVERYTHING, doesn't care what I paint, loves my garden (lots of which is in hanging pots on the porch), lets me use his grill, and even took money off the rent when I fixed up the old workbench in the basement so I could use it. Recently, he came over to tell me he was having a band rehearsal and let me know that I should come over and tell them if it was too loud - and then I got fantastic music through the shared wall all afternoon, at a perfectly reasonable volume.

Unfortunately, I've found most store-bought mint extracts are spearmint. I prefer peppermint - even for savory dishes - so I made my own. It's very easy, and peppermint is incredibly easy to grow. (In fact, the harder part is making it STOP.)

I would also include a somewhat up to date bootable clone of your system. It's a backup and an emergency usability solution all in one, and nothing will make the average user feel more like a badass.

I don't know about everyone arguing 'well, tablets aren't cheap but neither are textbooks'. I went to public schools my whole life, and until college - when no one cared what format my textbook was, or even if I had one - textbooks were FREE. (As in, owned by the school and issued to me for my temporary use.)

They do this in many parts of the world to save space. IT SUCKS. Everything, and I mean everything, gets wet.
Including not just the clothes, which is expected, and not really a problem for a private master bath, but your toilet paper. You will never forget the taste of shampoo on a toothbrush - and it always somehow happens, sooner or later.

I have been told that they're nice, but I've never ever seen it.

My SO and I are both scientists and collectors. We have an antique 'curiosity cabinet' in our dining room that's full of the shells and fossils we've collected on our travels. We don't care if it's weird, it's beautiful and it's ours.

I just thought 'hey, my dog would drink that.' But then, like Twowheeler's dogs, she eats dead things.

That 'antique hardware' on the ikea stuff is actually ALSO from ikea, unless there's more hardware somewhere that I'm not seeing.

Colorblocked books. Way to show just how little you read your giant book collection.

Distressed furniture. Just like distressed jeans, if YOU put the holes there while using it, that's one thing. If you just banged up your new dresser for looks? You make me laugh

Also, now I think about it, 'floating' furniture. What the hell. Why would I stick my furniture in the middle of the room to 'open up' the room? How does that work? Oh yes, look how open this room is with a giant couch in the middle of it. Yeah right.

Realted to the space cadet in the aisles is the space cadet in the parking lot or doors. I actually had a man stop to examine his receipt in front of my stopped-and-attempting-to-exit car the other day. Had to stick my head out the window and ask him to move!

For anyone else wanting to refurbish this particular MacBook, it's worth knowing that Apple will replace that cracking top case for free. (only once, but it doesn't have to still be under warranty.) Save yourself the $42. :D
