i would've tried to salvage the cabinets and paint them to save $, and in a color that would bring out those BEAUTIFUL marble counter tops. but now they go all the way to the ceiling. nice! also love that you fit the microwave in. have to agree - gas range all the way. though your choice may be easier to clean for a rental. light and airy is alwats great way to go for a hot weather vacation rental. a big improvement!

sure, we've all seen "uglier". and yes, we would have each made different design decisions and done things our own way - but - GREAT SERIES! it has led to lots of discussion, controversy, and drama in the blog world. it showed a remodel from start to finish. i'm excited to see the full recap of before and after photos. and hope apartment therapy takes on another willing soul to document their remodel project. HOUSE TOUR of the former ugliest condo please!

Your place is a FANTASTICALLY creative use of space. Then I realized 2 people live here?!? many props to you! i love the center divider and your choice to lower its height. i don't know if i would've made 4 different seating areas - does seem a bit cramped, but if you each needed a workstation that couldn't be used as dining or living, then sure - have to make sacrifices. i still think your place ROCKS.

thanks for the article!!! (comments by those offended by one term don't give your article justice) i tried to "brew" kombucha without a guide, just from friends telling me what to do, and it turned out horrible. that and i don't think my cold house in seattle was a healthy environment for it. still debating whether to try again, but your article gives me hope, some good guidance and resources to get a "mother" scoby. Thanks!

it is my "good" olive oil but the price is comparable to other "everyday" ones. available online, at berkeley bowl, or you can call them for more stores.
a little bird told me Chez Panisse has been using his olive oil for years. i was surprised how affordable it was and have never looked back.

- good olive oil (doing your research & paying a bit more is infinitely worth the results)
- kiwi berries
- pink salts (usually = more minerals)
- beet greens are like unevolved chard (in the same family) = good sautee addition
- adding flax seed to smoothies
- my first crockpot
@ pleioven : so happy you've joined the arugula bandwagon!
