I do this too! I arrange my tomatoes & peaches in a bowl and put the scallions, parsley, etc. into a vase. I feel like you, I'll use it more often if I see it.

I just bought 2 4-packs of butter today! Crazy good prices. Wish I had more room in the freezer.

Yum, I've loved Puffins since my first visit to Whole Foods many moons ago in Northern VA.

Everyone has such good suggestions. I'll just come out against the author's advice to buy a picnic basket. No one ever uses the big fancy ones. We ebay'ed ours.

Agree 1000% :

And I agree about the "hack" usage. "How to make your frozen lasagna taste homemade" sounds like a hack. "How to make Lasagna" doesn't.

I hit a home run! I recommended this recipe in your earlier pulled pork craving post. I'm going to try it this week, we're going to have some bad weather in NYC area. Thrilled that there are so many positive reviews, and I think I will take the commenters' advice and ease up on the liquid smoke.

I used the Cook's Ill Jan/Feb 2010 recipe for the SuperBowl. Too much work, I don't think the wet brine did anything, and would skip it next time. I do like their bbq sauce recipes and it was scarfed down at the party.

Perfect timing. I'm making this for superbowl weekend for the first time! I'm so excited. I've wanted to make it forever, but it's not the Fiance's favorite dish, so it's too much for us. Perfect excuse to make it for a party.

My burning question - What do I do with the skin? I have an 8# pork shoulder, bone in. If I keep the roast whole & bake in oven, should I remove the skin?

Cooks Illustrated has Indoor Pulled Pork, and they talk about slicing it horizontally for more surface area and don't even mention the SKIN. ????

Don't forget the Cheater BBQ that Bitten recommended last year.

I love the artichokes on long stems displayed like a flower arrangement. I bought a similar vase at Home Goods, I'm going to try that out. I hope long stem artichokes are cheaper than tulips or at least last longer!

what counts as timeless in a kitchen reno? I agree that stainless steel & granite have been around for quite a while, but what's next?

I love that marble backsplash. I'd prefer a darker granite counter that offered more contrast to it.

I've got the leftover ham bone from Easter. Anyone have a great recipe for split pea soup? That's what I'd like to make.

Or maybe another bean soup recipe - it's split in two, so I can make two separate soups.

Rats, I was in Sintra a few years ago, and didn't know to look out for the pastries. The castle are gorgeous and have such beautiful tiles and sculptures. One of my favorite travel photographs is of the crumbling Moorish stone fortress against the blue, blue sky.
