Lots of great suggestions here! Contact paper with a coat of acrylic polyurethane is an easy way to cover the countertop. It's easy to remove when you move and the top coat makes it glossy and durable.

I second Scott's suggestion of Gypsy's Palace. The ladies who run this shop are so friendly and helpful. I must have browsed in there a dozen times before deciding on my fabric and they were always gracious. And they can help you work within a budget as well.

Yep, I loved the wood too, but perhaps the bar looked better in the photo than in reality. That said, bravo on the interior of the cabinet! It looks organized, pretty and functional.
