I have a great landlord who's let me do as I please with paint. However, I tired of my "oh-i'll-just-paint" coping strategy when I got the itch to move or some other life event was occurring that was out of my control (at least I could choose my own darn paint color!). So, I had the 600 square foot studio painted professionally, calmly, and with the input of a designer.
