Legend or no- this is a fun tradition. My brother and I loved searching for the pickle and I'm looking forward to sharing the tradition with my daughter. (Although my mom, in the interest of fairness, always had the winner choose first from two pretty similar small prizes) Is the Pickle Ornament Legend Just a Myth? |

My husband and I made the decision long before I was pregnant to pass my name along if we had a daughter, and his if we had a son. We now have a daughter who shares my last name. We plan on having two children, but if the second turns out to be a girl...we may give her his last name anyway. Just to be fair... Hyphenated Last Names for the Next Generation New York Times |
