I'll have to try these but I haven't found a lot of wines at Whole Foods that I enjoy. I generally find Trader Joe's to have a much better selection. Great Value Wine Picks from Whole Foods Wonderful Wine Under $15 |

I love the idea of it, but practically I don't think I could ever do it. I think the constant battle against dust and pollen (in the spring) would drive me nuts. Ideally I'd like to have mostly glass front cabinets, with a few regular cabinets to hide the less than pretty stuff. How To Know if You're Ready for Open Kitchen Shelving |

I usually grill up a banana for my oatmeal. Just slice and put in a pan. Turn once and add to oatmeal. With some brown sugar and walnuts it tastes just like a bowl of banana bread. I don't think I should be handling a brulee torch before I have my coffee. Fancy-Schmancy Oatmeal Topping! Brûléed Bananas |

I've done it a few time, especially for a larger gathering. Someone put stuff in and take stuff out of the oven, pick up empty plates/napkins, and clean up. It's been well worth it every time. I don't spend the whole night trapped in the kitchen or cleaning up and even if my kitchen isn't completely up to my standards at the end of the party it's a million times better than without the help. In the past I've used my younger sisters friends or asked one of my restaurant manager friends if there was anyone on their staff that could help me out. Would You Hire a Bus Boy For a Party? I would endless explore different side options if left to my own devices, so I made a rule for myself that there would only be one "new" dish every year and if it sucks, that's okay. On Keeping it Simple This Thanksgiving |

I've been considering this. My room is long and thin, and angling the bed would allow it to face toward the fireplace. I just may rearrange tomorrow. Angled Bed: Would You Do It in Your Bedroom? |

I've been gluten free for almost a year now. Risotto is my pasta replacement. I made the fall vegetable orzo as a risotto last night and it was delish. I also love polenta with a bolognese sauce or other thick sauce. I'll fry up any extra polenta in the morning and top with a egg over easy. No Noodles: 6 Gluten-Free Ways to Eat Pasta Sauce |

I'm constantly in my home office even when I'm not working. I love the setup of my living room but will somehow end up reading a magazine on the futon in my office. muddymudskipper- HA, reminds me of my bartending days. People would occasionally scoff at the proper amount of head. I would smile, and tell them "there is no such thing as too much head" and then walk away. Good Foam, Bad Foam: What's the Deal with Beer Foam? Beer Sessions |

I locked myself out this weekend and it was not a happy experience. I lost my house keys rather than leaving them in the house. I ended up making a copy from my LL, but I've been trying to figure out where to keep a key. I'm not comfortable leaving it with any of my neighbors. I'm thinking about keeping a spare set in my car and then as long as I can get into my car I'll be good. I hate the idea of hiding a key someplace outside. It just seem unsafe, though I suppose it depends on your neighborhood Where Do You Keep Your Spare Key? |

My mother was particularly great at keeping kiddie art and making it work within her decor (of course my sister has always been artistically talented so she had good material). Growing up she had 4 matted frames in the entrance way which she changed our artwork in and our of. Framing it made it look 100% better. I didn't think much of it but looking back I think it was great and I'm certain it encouraged my sister to pursue a career in the arts. My mom also still has Xmas ornaments decorate by my sister and I and several nieces and nephews. One of her favorites is a ornament made in kindergarten by my cousin who just turned 42. You'd never know it was an art project that most people would have discarded years ago. How Long Do You Display Children's Artwork? Reader Survey |

I hate that as a country with some pretty real (and serious) problems this is the stuff some people choose to focus on (though I do think lemonade stand should stay on the front lawn and not at say the farmer's market). On a side note, I'm a sucker for a lemonade stand. I can't not stop. Lemonade Stands: The Debate For Regulation (Really!) Forbes |

My parents sold my childhood home when they divorced when I was in college. My sister and my mother packed up my room and put all the boxes along with any boxes of mine that were in the basement in storage. I finally moved back to the state two years ago and have been slowly going through all the boxes (which have some treasure mixed in with elementary school track ribbons and every card my parents received when I was born). I agree the rules vary based on the group. I think the host should always provide the main dish and provide some guidance (but not a specific recipe) so there isn't duplicates. I have to disagree about store bought. A bag of chips is unacceptable, but not everyone is a good cook and I would much rather them be aware of it and bring something they know everyone will enjoy rather than subject everyone to their cooking. aaakid- that's a great idea. I have an ever growing collection of dishes (all white) and at the end of the night, throwing it all in the dishwasher is super easy. Most of it comes from thrifting so if it breaks it breaks. Smarty Had A Party: Elegant Disposable Dinnerware Store Profile |
