I agree with the author that the Dodo is a thing of beauty. I however prefer the Bookbook by twelve south. It is beautiful in a totally different way (looks like an antique wizards manual) but remains usable and undamaged even when pummeled down a set of stairs. Not that it is something I will ever be likely to do again any time soon. DODOcase Spring Summer iPad Case Tech Test Lab |

Meals are a sharing time with my family. I would rather just skip a meal than eat alone. I avoid dining out alone like the plague. If Im hungry ill just munch a pickle or a pretzel or two while I'm doing something else. I grew up in a time when the table was where the family got together to discuss their day and to laugh. Eating alone just does not feel right to me at all. So no I do not ritualize the place settings for my pickle. Do You Set the Table When Eating Solo? Cooking for One |

Ditto to JMORRI26. On the grill I add only black pepper, but in the preferred method I sear quickly in almost smoking hot olive oil/butter with black pepper and granulated garlic then finish for about 3 min in a 350degree oven. a 1 inch thick steak will be medium to medium rare at this point. Project Glass is pretty cool, I will buy it. Loved my Jawbone UP till it bricked, now it is out of production and is not for sale unless you can find some old stock. But if you buy old stock it will brick. I miss it and when if ever it goes into production again I will buy. Fashion & Function: Wearable Computing Devices |

The bookbook by twelve south is far superior to all of the above examples. Its cheap and looks like an old book some wizard might have stashed in his library. But since its not at all girly or feminine it is probably not for everyone. 35 Fun, Stylish, & Practical Cases for the New iPad |

madameme- I stand corrected. This forum has done a great job highlighting the other choices lately. I am biased to support the one I have. When i broke the zipper due to my own clumsiness twelve south replaced my bookbook free of charge and no trouble at all. So I think they have earned my loyalty. This is the coolest thing I have ever seen. The island while not the topic of this great post is a jaw dropper. I'm an open shelving kind of cook and rewash for dust on a regular basis. I would be tempted to always leave these doors open. The b2 Kitchen Tool Cabinet From Bulthaup |

gregory: sorry you took what was just a statement of opinion as some kind of troll...I love the dodocase because it is carved from bamboo and finished like a book bound piece of furniture. I love the Bookbook (i own 2) because it is an amazing handcrafted piece of art. Both are superior products to the Pad n Quill. (Plastic and cardboard with contact paper) Just saying..Its an opinion. I have a huge collection of fiestaware that I use as everyday tableware. I save the fine china for holidays and such. Its a bit heavy though and i wonder everyday if my kitchen cabinets are going to remain affixed to the wall under what must be a hefty load. Best Everyday China 2011 |

Great eye for placement and design....the unleveled lampshades however are sending my OCD into overdrive. I feel compelled....no driven to spend the next three hours visiting my lamps with a level in one hand and a black russian in the other. Lindsay's Modern Bohemian in Silver Lake House Tour |
