I would love to have this for when I clean out my daughter's potty. Far more graceful than slamming the potty bowl against the seat trying to get as much "stuff" out, and feels more sanitary than rinsing the rest out in the bathroom sink. (Grosses me out each time!) Bet I would use less water, too. Now that I'm also expecting twins, I'm totally contemplating purchasing one of these.

I second Jose A's suggestion: the Micke desks from IKEA. They are 19-5/8" deep, and come in a length of 41", and also 55".... would you be interested in putting two of them together to achieve your desired length?

Or, if you are interested in DIY, the hollow core door desk is always a great option, like many have mentioned.

It's hard for some people to "chill out" when they haven't gotten more than 3 hours of sleep/day for a week or two straight. Inconsiderate house guests, no matter how well-intentioned, can push a normally sane person over the edge. In the end, some new moms love guests, others want to be left the hell alone. There's no right or wrong.

Should also add: NO surprise drop-ins, EVER! My MIL called us when she was down the block from our place to say she was coming over with ALL of my daughter's cousins so they could meet her. We were beyond unprepared, and I was close to tears the whole visit. It's been over three years, and I still get furious thinking about it!

When I stop laughing loud and hard at the thought of this thing in my home, I'll let you know how I REALLY feel.
(And do I dare ask about the price? Didn't think so...)

The other day, in a panic after noticing that we were out of craft paper for munchkin to paint on, I handed her a 2 litre cola bottle from the recycle bin, not sure what her reaction would be. She loved it, and it can be displayed a lot more places then usual paper. Turned out great! Going to try this box idea, next.

Hmmm. I agree, the "before" kitchen wasn't so bad, though not exactly to my tastes. Those backspalsh tiles and counter-top scream mid-90s. (I can just hear the opening theme song to Friends!) I do like how they turned the island around... gives a nicer sense of flow to the kitchen, rather than the "barricaded-in" feel from the before. And I do like the extra light that seems to be shining in (was an extra window added off to the right side?) Not so crazy about the fridge placement... my eye was drawn to it right away, in a bad way. Anyhow, it looks like this kitchen was re-done 15-20 years ago, no way is it original, so who cares if they do it again in another 15? Nice job, I say!

Wow! My daughter is ALWAYS asking to pick out her own dishes, and I always pick her up so she can rummage through her things in the cupboard. Seriously! HOW did I not think of this myself??? Going home to do this IMMEDIATELY! This will make me a hero. =)

Clampers - I soak my jars in a sink full of hot water until it's no longer hot, then peel/scrape off what I can on my own. (Sometimes I add a little bleach, but I'm trying to get away from that) Then, for the stubborn remains, I sprinkle on some baking soda and go at it with some steel wool. It's a workout, but worth it!

As someone who is both a soap maker and a breast feeder... uh, no. Just no. There could be no way.
