We are learning french full time in our in anticipation of a move to Africa and I love those written words- but I doubt I could paint them that neatly myself, any ideas for where to get decals like that?

This isn't an audiobook, but my 3 and 4 year-old boys' favorite thing to listen to in the car right now is Prokofiev's "Peter and the Wolf." It's a story along with music that totally engages the listener's creativity. The story is great and the music introduces children to the idea of music being symbolic (the string instruments represent Peter, the oboe represents the duck, etc.). I listened to it as a kid and I love it as much as the kids do now.

I love this idea. I have a huge family so I'm already thinking about Christmas presents and this sounds perfect for my dad, the guy who hates for anyone to spend money on him but frequently locks his wife out of the house.

A question for renters- If I paint a wooden door with chalkboard paint, then my boys' chalk it up for a couple of years, will I be able to paint over the chalkboard paint with regular paint?

I started EC with my first child when he was 5 months old and found this to be a good age. By then he had an established eating and sleeping schedule, so elimination was pretty routine, too. And it was before he could move around by himself so lying on a towel in a warm house nakey-bum was easy. I learned his cues quickly (at 3 and half years old he still has the same full body-shiver when he needs to urinate). And he was out of diapers within a few months, except long trips in the car. My second son, coming 17 months after the first, also started at 5 months. I was less consistent with pottying him after he turned a year old, but once I put away the diapers (again) at 18 months, it was pretty smooth sailing, although there is usually at least one pee pee accident a day.
Having the boys trained to go poop in the potty at 6 months old made cloth diapers a lot easier on me. And I only saw one case of diaper rash between the two of them.
The truth of it the whole debate is that each child is different, as is each parent. EC is not as straight forward as it sounds, there are regressions and accidents for a long time. But it is doable and a worthy experiment, if one has the opportunity.
I'm having twins soon and plan on starting with them on the potty at 5 months. My main reason is to avoid poop in the diapers, so for me there is no illusion of superior parenting, it is just a matter of preference.

Love the painting. Any word on where/who it's from?

Just a word about the glass bottles not breaking. I have had 4 Born Free glass bottles break, and not because my child threw them. I dropped them or knocked them off a table. All four breaks were from about 3 feet high onto linoleum floor, so maybe that's the culprit.
I like the crocheted/knit bottle cozies you can find on etsy.com. That would cover the ugly logo on a plastic or glass bottle.

Not disgusting. Is looking at excrement gross? Yes, but who does that? As soon as it's full, you empty it.
I've had two for a year. They aren't fragile. And I love not having to look at another piece of plastic in my house.

I didn't get the AT confirmation page, either, just an error page. Sad. So how will I know if I need to try again?

A sharp chef's knife. I'd like to have two though- because I get in such a hurry when I cook, it'd be nice to have a clean one at the ready. It'd be nice to have more than 20 minutes to cook, but alas, two toddlers can create quite the mess in just a few unsupervised minutes.
