I forgot the green chair everyone loved is a Plycraft Lounge. I see quite a few mostly black, I had that one recovered in a pea green. Plycraft did offer many colors on that chair, if you watch "What a Way to Go" with Shirley MacLaine her psychiatrist in the movie has a powder blue Plycraft chair.

Well, in another year it might be back to the 60's, I just get off with change. I do agree the 70's has a more upscale look the 60's was more fun and kitschy. I like both, I am just a swap meet addict and love buying & selling.

My other cat Necco is camera shy, he is a beautiful Russian Blue, the Siamese well she is an attention w***e

Thanks, the blue mirrored wall are probably late 70's early 80's pieces.

I do like both styles I just get bored and I like re-doing things every now & then. My swap meet addiction keeps me off the streets and I do have fun changing things. In another year or so I'm sure things will have evolved a bit.

The 70's look is more upscale. Sadly all of the old furniture was sold on craigslist.

I actually got the toaster on ebay. I just sold it for 151.00 and got another avocado green Hostess circa 1970 that fits even better.

The bedrooom is undergoing a change now from green to powder blue. I've had the bedroom green for a few years now so it's overdue for me.

I forgot the green painted credenza came from Revival Furniture near the St. Vincent De Paul Thrift store around Ave 22 or so not far from Downtown LA.

The hanging swag table lamps I found in an Antique Mall in Burlingame near San Francisco. The Starburst sculpture over the bed is from about 1962 or so. I got that years ago on Melrose Ave.

The ceilings are probably 8 or 9 feet. I have lots of windows and I am in the front upstairs unit so I have windows on 2 sides so it really doesn't feel cramped. The area is great so it makes up for not owning and being the manager I am saving money.

Thanks for all the nice comments, even if not my taste when looking at other's places I try to find something nice to say. I appreciate other's letting us peek at their living spaces.

Derek

Haha...I agree when this building was built (1957) it was probably filled with a cheap pole lamp and a vinyl daybed sofa.

I just wanted to open the door and go wow! I was only in High School during Studio 54's heyday and I didn't pay attention to the high end stuff at the time I was into atomic 50's then. But, when I start looking at 80's Nagel Prints and Black Laquered Korean Hostess bar furniture, I put a gun to my head. Haha

Yes I know this is not for everyone but 30 years of vintage collecting is hard to break, I really can't do anything current. I've tried, plus seeing Ikea stuff in thrift stores that is only 5 years old is kind of a testament as to how things are made now.

Thanks everyone. The blender was an ebay find, New in the box never used from Grants Dept Store, was probably an unused wedding gift. My Siamese cat Newmar is an attention w****e but my male Russian Blue "Necco" is camera shy!

Elizabeth, I'd love an avocado stove but shipping from Florida would cost a fortune, I better get one locally.

It's not my taste but I love it. The whole place has a funky upscale kind of late 70's look to it. Even the three men have a kind of 70's "Tom of Finland" vibe to them. Thanks for the courtesy of letting us see your place.

I've been going to Modernica since 1995 or so. There has ALWAYS been an aloofness and coldness in the LA store. grew up in LA so I am used to pretentiousness but it has and always will annoy me. I have known Jeff from Futurama since 1988 and Jay used to come in his store from time to time and buy things then take it to Modernica where it had ten prices added to it. The NY store closed probably because you can get knockoffs for a lot cheaper at just about anywhere else on the internet.

Gorgeous, even though that much white would probably get to me after a while but you did a great job. It does look huge.

Absolutely beautiful love every room. Futurama is now on Hollywood Blvd, across the street from Wacko and Ozzie Dots. I've known Jeff Perry for over 20 years I'm glad he is near me in Los Feliz-Silverlake now. Back to your house, just gorgeous, I could never move out of that place.

I love the colors. I'm surprised that jerk that said my apt looked like a clown lounge didn't come on here and trash yours too...I think your place looks awesome. I love the Rosenthal Netter cat.

The only problem with platform beds that have wood overhang is you end up banging knees and other parts on the sides. One with no edge or rim is more body friendly.

Never really cared for that chunky unfinished wood look. The color of the cushion goes well with the wood but not my style. It doesn't look that comfortable either.

Most of those piece are just a rip off of mid-60's design. And at those prices I'd rather have the vintage stuff. Not to mention better quality.
