Jury's out on this zine. They're certainly ambitious - I wonder if that many big names is sustainable or if they would've been better served spreading the love amongst a few issues. Also: I'm no editor but it seems like they could use some editorial help. I just the finished the interview with the couple who run a business together, and had to go back and reread it just to find out what their business is, or where one might find it (still don't know). In general, context/wrapping feels missing from a lot of the pieces. That page on movies and personal style - why? who? Now I'm on to Princess Margaret but I have to look for a header to even know it's a new article. I felt a bit tossed about reading the issue.

Not to end on a sour note: Nice photography. And shoutout to Exeter, my Dad lives down the road.

we painted our apartment in Abalone and love it. The LVR gets great light and it is really soft. The dark hallway feels brighter by that touch of lavendar.

I'd love to do our master bedroom in Silver Fox. Grays are so so hard....

I just made a rhubarb crumble this weekend and cut the sugar by a third. I think I could've gone further.

For 3 cups of cubed rhubarb, I used 2/3 cup sugar, but would've been just as happy to cut it by 50% and go down to 1/2 cup.

i just got this lamp in white (gift card) and while it's cute in our guest bedroom, the bulb issue was completely annoying. after managing to find the right kind at Target, I too went through about 2 or 3 before one actually worked. I was afraid the lamp was busted but it was the bulbs.

i inhale my food. oldest of four kids - there was little talking at the dinner table and much eating. my husband insists that i ate an entire hamburger without once putting it down on the plate on our first date. i'm not sure i'm that bad...

My Dad lives in Hampton Falls, NH and he was out of power for several days. Haven't spoken to him since Mon, so I'm not sure if he's back. He and his wife relied on their fireplace for warmth - apparently they didn't freeze because a: their house is well-insulated, and b: they had a few warm-ish days since Thursday night when the ice storm hit. They moved the contents of their fridge to the deck to keep cold, and reheated some leftovers over the fire for dinner (they used the rack from their BBQ grill to act as a burner, and added another tier using a second rack so they could steam food over boiling water...Laura Ingalls Wilder would be proud). With no light past 4pm, he said they played a lot of games and went to bed early.

They did find an open grocery store a few towns over to buy some water and ice - and upon entering the store, saw a line of 30-40 people. Discouraged about a potentially long wait, my step-mother asked what they were in line for, and they replied: 'coffee'. Funny how 40 people line up for coffee, but there were 0 lines for food/supplies. Make everyone was already stocked up? Or maybe they can't begin to think about supplies until they're properly caffeinated.

Look at that sunset! We're right down the road in Canaan, NY. I was going to post a few pics of our little retreat, but I think you represent the serenity and beauty of the Berkshires region just perfectly.
