when my 35-year old son was a baby, two of the most interesting items in his room were a black/yellow stuffed bumble bee, hanging off the side of his crib, it was about 8" in length. it helped develop his back strength/muscles, because when he was on his tummy, he wanted to prop himself up by his arms to look at that bee. we thought he'd be a beekeeper when he grew up.

he also liked looking at himself in the round mirror on his changing table that was propped up against the wall near his shoulder, as i would change his diapers.

the wine and cheese party is a fun and easy alternative to an actual 'dinner' party for today's busy people. including a heavier appetizer in the mix easily solves more than one problem. good thought!
