My mom received one of those Mix n' Chop tools as a gift. The giver said it was awesome for browning ground meat and things like that, but I found it awkward and not as useful as a good spoon. It's also awkward in the drawer. Homemade tofu is intriguing though.

Thanks for all the suggestions, guys! Now I have so many ideas I'll have to buy another can or two.

I have the one shown above and I really like it. I don't use it super often, but I'm so glad to have it when I need it. I can, but when I still can't keep up with what we get in our farm share, I dry it. I just dried two trays of apriums. And I love to make fruit leather for hiking. Haven't tried jerky yet, but that's coming up. I also like drying all the herbs I get fresh and can't use up. This summer I'll be drying some of the abundant summer veggies I'll get to make soup mixes to give as gifts. And I dry things like shallots, red onion, and garlic to make dip mixes that are way better than store-bought.

Worth it? I don't know, but I sure like mine. I guess it just depends what you'll do with it.

I've had this same problem. And while I love my Lock and Lock containers and the Snapware ones from Costco, they do NOT nest well. In fact, the ones from Costco get stuck sometimes, and my frustrated husband has chipped the rims on two different occasions trying to get them out.

This isn't a Thanksgiving disaster story, it's a hachiya story. I had some very soft ones the other day, and I made a spice bread with them. And it's possibly the best spice bread I've ever made. The end.
