This is my new favorite cake recipe. I have made it three times in the past month. I am notorious about changing recipes, but I stayed with the exact original recipe all three times. Why change a perfect recipe?

I have made this twice, and it is my new favorite cake recipe. The only change I made was that I was not about to use my fingers to rub lemon zest into the sugar. I used the silicone edged beater on my Kitchen Aid mixer instead, and it did a better job than my fingers could have done. I grow raspberries so I plan to try the original recipe next summer when the raspberries are abundant.
