Oh my goodness! You people need to read The Geography of Nowhere by James Howard Kunstler. Kunstler would have a field day with this. Wake up! The emperor has no clothes people! It's ugly! Historic brownstones are way more beautiful than the flat roofed boring boxes they build today. Why didn't the owners jut put a Pizza Hut roof on the brownstone and call it a day? Do we know where his bathroom is? I like the line of book shelves along the ceiling. I want to do that! It doesn't matter how small his apartment is or how much he pays for it, it's in New York! You don't need a big apartment in New York when you can have such a great city to play in. I'm sure people paying $450 for a two bedroom apartment in Overland Park, Kansas wouldn't get that. Then again, you have to have a nice, big place to live when you live in a god awlful suburban housing tract "community" that is just housing pods, strip malls and Taco Johns with no public spaces to enjoy. I love this apartment! I imagine it might work better as an apartment for a single person, namely, me! This is the New York apartment of my dreams. If I ever move there, and I hope to, I would love to have an apartment like this. It looks like those plastic necklaces in grade school that had the plastic charms of ordinary things like irons, skateboards, baseball bats, all made of different colors of plastic like this and you were supposed to collect them all but even back in grade school, I was like, it's junk. But still, I am oddly drawn to it. It'd be good for a warehouse or other industrial space as shown here. They say when junk becomes art it's the first sign that civlization is in decline. I think this house tour is great and it presents a great opportunity for AT to have a new catergory of house tours. How about "Just Starting Out" House Tours? I would love to see more of these! Ashley's place reminds me of my first apartment when I was 25. I thought that place was more fabulous than the Queen's palace and to me, it was. I like to see the lifestyles of normal people rather than super rich designers for a change! What if you get hungry though before the month is out? I use time as a factor. If it saves me time to eat lunch out, then it's worth the extra money.
