Are these all too "tough" for indoor use? I want to recover my dining room chairs and was looking at Sunbrella fabrics in hopes they'd hold up to spills. Would love some ideas in the $10/yard range!

Is there any other vegetable (outside of the squash family) that would work for this? It sounds SO delicious, but my husband has already told me his squash limit is about once a season... Would love a suggestion of how to adapt!!

I love my Breville electric kettle. I had a cheaper one, and it broke (twice! I replaced it and the replacement broke!), so it was worth it to me to spend more on this one. It works perfectly for tea and I also use it to jumpstart the pasta water. Bought it at Bed, Bath & Beyond with a 20% off coupon.

A friend of mine just tried this trick: mix baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to a paste. Apply to gunky baking sheet and scrub gently with a scrubby sponge. Voila!

Our Brownie troop runs a "reverse trick-or-treating" program at the elementary school (and I'm guessing other elementary schools do as well). Like Kate said above, the candy is shipped overseas to the troops. A win for everyone!

These were very good, though they were a bit too wet to be a bar. They needed to be eaten on a plate with a spoon. Great taste, though.

I always wonder: how long does tahini last? I have a jar (open) of organic tahini in the fridge. It's the consistency of natural peanut butter, as opposed to others that are liquidy or whipped. Any idea of the lifespan? This sounds delicious!

Check out Spilled Milk Podcast's episode on French toast, specifically Molly's method: http://www.spilledmilkpodcast.com/2012/02/16/episode-58-french-toast/. I also think she cooks it in oil, not butter. Maybe that lends more toward cripsness of the outside?

Made this today and loved it! Made two thicker loaves in 9" cake pans, one just plain with salt and olive oil, and the other with thinly sliced onions. Delicious and reminiscent of Italy!

I have used the plastic wrap method when I'm mixing multiple colors in one piping bag, so the colors don't meld until piped. But for a piping bag with just one color of frosting, this seems wasteful. The only benefit is to be the reduced cleanup time, but I don't find it takes very long to clean a piping bag.
