I found a $10 kitchen sink with faucet on craigslist and my hubby built a very basic small frame for it. We set it up outside and hooked it up to the hose. Perfect! Ours has two sides; I intended to use one for sand, but the water is just as much fun. No need to have a drain, just let it go into the garden. We don't do distance drives without a few favorite books on tape. You can find some on itunes, but our favorites are from Rabbit Ears Entertainment. They're just the right length, well narrated (not boringly read), and they have great music dispersed throughout. Our 2 year old listens to them intently. The bedding is part of the Pottery Barn Kids organic line... but it was the last one in the store, on clearance, and they don't carry it on their website anymore. By far my favorite baby shower gift I received! I agree that it got gross with fruit, but we used ice cubes or frozen chamomile tea ice cubes. And here in Miami, the melted ice water dripping down her chin helped cool her off. The great thing about the one pictured is it comes apart for cleaning and it's easy to replace the mesh.
