a beautiful remodel. but i can't help thinking the layout of the first one was nicer.. I don't like toilets right up next to the bathtub (makes taking a bath less pleasurable for me) and I hate to see a window made smaller. I would have left the toilet where it was (as far from the bathtub as possible) and moved the door over a foot or so, so it didn't open directly on the toilet. And left the big window with counterspace/storage below it. but not trying to be critical, just thinking of how I might like it better. love the wood and blue and tolietroll art!

We use one big fluffly down comforter with duvet cover, plus a top and bottom sheet. Love the lightness of it sleeping and ease of making the bed. I do read in bed frequently, so have excess pillows, when I go to sleep i push a couple against the wall.

i just tried this, it worked after a few tries, but the "wick" part didn't want to stay lit. It smelled a bit acrid to me, not sure if it was the oil (olive oil) or what, but it wasn't a pleasant smell. looked cook though, briefly.

I was at work 49th/8th. Walked home. Had to cross the police line at Houston St to get to my apt in Little Italy. At first couldn't find any ID to show the policeman to prove I lived there, so he couldn't let me past. Started crying while searching my purse for my ID and then the policeman started crying too. I found my id and he let me go past, he was happy for me that I found it. Like a number of the posts above... what I remember most clearly is the color of the blue, blue sky, the smell that lingered for months, the missing posters everywhere. Never forget. R.I.P.

I vote coffee table as well. Just a bit too much "couch" due to the proportions...

trying to find a very narrow sofa table... something only 5 or 6 inches wide, but as long as possible, super simple. I am picturing literally a single narrow plank with simple iron legs ...any ideas of source for something like this?

This is similar. I bought an awesome lampshade from this site (the "bitsy" in nicotine with "harmony" pattern in black and gold.) I definitely recommend the site.

I made this this weekend.. with peaches, blueberries and blackberries. For the crust I reduced the sugar to 1 cup, but left butter and flour at 1 1/2 cups. It was delicious, but a bit on the too sweet side. It was delicious and so easy and well received by my sweetheart. In hindsight though I would use more peaches, no blackberries. maybe slightly less blueberries. the berries so overpowered everything, that you wouldn't have even known their was peaches in it w/o my saying. Next time I will do just peaches. but regardless, it was yum. And the crust was delicious using the less sugar.

I always wonder about furniture with no arms being as comfortable as they could be...sometimes I don't know what to do with my arms on something like that. But personally, I like the look and it does look comfy.

i grew up in the country and isolated area, and never once felt scared (of humans) and didn't realize I think that there was any cause to be. Never had any it wasn't until i moved to the city (nyc) that I started actually fearing other people.

i think suggestions on secure locks, trim bushes, etc make sense, but motion dectors are overkill to me and will get every raccoon, etc. and make you crazy.

this may sounds weird, but agree w/ the comment on the NRA sticker being a deterrant. i heard someone say once when camping in the woods alone, put up a POW/MIA flag and no one will bother you.... you never know, wouldn't hurt.
