Honestly, this is a beautifully designed space, but it was certainly not designed with children in mind. The kids live there and are allowed to roam and play freely (rightfully so,) toys are present in abundance, but nothing about these interiors indicates that they were designed as a children friendly space. It appears to me that the parents are supportive of unrestricted access to all living space regardless of how expensive the furnishings might be. Kudos to them, by the way.

It should be left up to the family and based on their needs and preferences, whether it's a pure breed or a mutt. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't a labradoodle a mutt anyway?

The Dutch are great, no doubt. I'm floored by the bones of this place (and the views are stunning too.) I also love the feel of this home - candid, young, and honest - this is what effortless style is all about, even the things that are out of place and a little strange seem darn charming. I love it.

I completely agree with what Devyn said. I think building something that resembled or mimicked the original, and truly historical, architecture would have been a real disgrace here. I love the contrast and the overall awkwardness of this setting and I don't see it as a blemish on Prague's face (then again, I'm completely biased, I love this city more than any other in the world.)

While "we're in Prague," could AT do a piece on Prague's interiors???

I'm not sure if Cesar would approve of it, but yes. They have access to every space in the house. It was a conscious decision too - if we couldn't put up with a bit of hair on our clothes and furniture then I guess it would be best not to get a dog at all.

It's so lovely. I was extremely saddened when the last tree on our city block was removed...

Remove all strings from the inside and plant tons of ivy in it. I think it would look spectacular as a planter/living sculpture. It might require a bit of grooming every now and then though...

The moomin series were the ones I remember admiring the most. The stories are incredibly sweet, but it's the illustrations that blew my mind completely.
This particular book has amazing die cuts

I can look at it forever and my 3 year old son adores it too.

I'm so happy that this was posted. Less than a month ago I had a chance of stumbling upon Lulu while visiting Krakow. It's quite an amazing place and the coffee's good too!

When I first saw these photographs In W magazine a while back I was blown away (and still am). I understand that this isn't everybody's cup of tea and that, of course, is absolutely to be expected. But in retrospective, looking back at everything Marc Jacobs has ever done, this place makes perfect sense. It completes and unifies the image he's created throughout the years. This is exactly what I'd imagine his place to look like. A juxtaposition of a dog crate with high modern art is quintessentially Marc Jacobs. And as aweekinparis has already said, it wasn't left there by accident. I absolutely adore everything about this space down to the "drunken" maid. It's infinitely inspiring and just plain cool - kind of like Marc himself.

I know I've said it before, but this is beyond spectacular. This space isn't decorated; every inch of it is designed with purpose and clear vision. It might not be "warm" or "homey, " but who cares when you deal with something of this caliber. Pure perfection - I wouldn't change a thing.

I love this space. Totally cool and unpretentious. I love your life drawings and the creativity which shows in your use of space - you've maximized it without cluttering it. WOW.
Your descriptions are humorous and honest... just like your space.

Maybe not my cup of tea and I'd remove a few knick-knacks here and there, but I love the fact that the space feels cohesive throughout...not an easy thing to achieve with so many different styles mixed in. Very warm and inviting.

This is stunning. Smart and uncomplicated. It's definitely sparse, but doesn't feel cold or sterile, which is very often hard to achieve. Bravo!
