anyone know where I could find a long, narrow console table? The "slim" table from Room & Board is narrow enough, but too short. There is a similar one from CB2, but it's also not quite long enough. Those cable rugs from west elm are NOT recommended! I had to return mine because it sheds like nobody's business. felt yummy underfoot, but then your foot, sock, etc would be covered with rugfur. I bought the yellow hex pillow a few weeks ago and I LOVE it. It is the most beautiful pillow in the whole world ever. I was kind of surprised to see another one appear in the shop, but I assume the two are slightly different. We have a similar situation with our hallway, not entry but connects different colored rooms. So far it's unfinished (July was move-in) but painted a flat version of the trim color, and we are thinking to add a chandelier and a multi-colored runner rug - not sure about what to hang on walls though. speaking of window treatments - what about putting molding around the windows? Anyone have some ideas for some CHEAP home improvement/decor projects? So far I have: - refinish these two chairs that were garage sale finds (the fabric likely won't be cheap, but we can at least get started on refinishing the wood) - do a deep deep clean (booooring!) - reorganize (bookshelves, fabric, linen closet, kitchen cabinets) - make some pillows/pillow covers using fabric on hand - plant some bulbs / fall vegetables in containers - painting the closet doors with paint on hand I'd love to hear others' ideas about projects that add to the home and can be done without much money. lately "ignoring your home's style" keeps coming up and every time I get concerned they are talking to me... can you have a log cabin with more modern decor? Then I have to remind myself that although not finished, I think the space is looking beautiful and I can see it will be exactly what I love, so who cares what the experts think? it's bright and happy and cozy and I smile every time I see it.
