Really nice. Agree with Terry, the key to a nice looking anything is to get rid of the visual and actual clutter. We are remodeling our mudroom right now which used to have a coat closet that wasn't very functional, so we moved the laundry appliances in there (they used to be in the mudroom itself). We are planning on building mudroom storage for coats, etc, and then struggle with the amount of *STUFF* we had to store. So my new solution is to move all of the out of season/rarely used items somewhere else and keep only the items that are used on a daily basis in the mudroom. I know this is not a "new" idea, but it's new to us and hopefully it will work. Beautifully Organized: Linen Closets |

I blame the internet and Facebook. Seriously though I was contemplating purchasing inserts for my day planner as I was much more organized with it. ToDoCal by Day One: An Assignment Notebook For Grown-Ups |

Funny, when we moved into our home, a dresser was one of the first purchases we made. I find large storage pieces keep things much more organized, if not at least hidden from company. great list. agree about priming. esp if you are using expensive paint, it really improves coverage of finish paint and you end up using less of that. Real Life Lessons from a First-Time Painter |

Loved our bright yellow bugaboo bee. Nice pop of color even in the dreariest of days. I don't think color really becomes "outdated". A Rainbow of Colorful Strollers |

Our biggest splurge to-date was our Carpe Diem bed/mattress. Thinking about how much it was makes me a bit ill (even on "sale", but I love it. It is hand-made and hopefully will last the rest of our lives (ok, we will probably replace the topper every 10 years) Biggest Indulgences: What Did You Pay Full Price For? |

omg, you have a very similar sofa to one that i *can* inherit! it just looks a bit lower (or longer, hard to tell) I would love to know what you eventually decided. I am torn as well. One of my motivations is to save it from the landfill and have things from my childhood home. But what if it's not a "great" piece - is it still worth it? Reupholster Sofas or Buy New?
