I agree with K T G. It doesn't look like a small space solution to me. It's pretty and all, but if I were to put in the effort to build something like that, it would have to be to store more than 8 things.

I agree with all of the above, except the slip-off shoes part. I always wear comfortable shoes with laces or buckles and closed toes. They're better for walking the airport, and they're much safer in the admittedly very unlikely chance of an accident.

How do so many people maneuver through airports with flip-flops? They're much more talented than I am.

MBM is right on. My iPod Touch case sleeve required 1 mismatched accidentally felted wool sock, a bit of embroidery thread, and 10 minutes of my time.

I forgot to mention that it doesn't get hot and it's worked well for me, a back and side sleeper, and my husband, a stomach sleeper.

We got a queen-sized Ikea Sultan ERFJORD latex mattress. It's wonderful! My husband and I were both sleeping poorly on an old futon mattress and the Erfjord has improved our sleep and made any number of aches and pains go away.

The bonus is that I was able to drive it home from Ikea because it fit in the back of my Toyota Matrix.

ooh -- I forgot to say what I cream I want to make. Something custardy. I'm custard-shy and want to learn to be egg-brave.

I've been looking for this book, but none of the local bookstores carry it.

Purple martins are great birds to attract, but they don't really consume that many mosquitos. The Purple Martin Conservation Association has some great information about attracting the birds and where to place bird houses. The good news is that the cool-looking gourds are more popular than the "apartment houses". http://purplemartin.org/

I second the quart-sized yogurt container suggestion. They work great!

I've been ordering rebound hardback journals from ex libris anonymous for year. http://www.bookjournals.com/ ~$13 (US) for a journal. I've filled Volumes 2-5 of the "The Book of Popular Science".

I think that I'd lightly steam the kale first. Raw kale is a bit too rough for me.

The cat on the counter doesn't bother me at all because I'm making the assumption that Ms. Clark is not an idiot and knows about both cleanliness and how to stay healthy while she's pregnant.

And I'll point out that the cat is probably going to be spreading fewer germs than a toddler does.

And have folks tried to keep from wandering where it wants to wander?

I made some peach ice cream from this cookbook just the other day. The ice cream was great. I followed the recipe, although I added a shot of bourbon to keep the ice cream from getting too hard in the freezer.

I don't understand paying $20 for a shoe bag when any old bag lying around will do.

Kitchenware is one of my few splurges, so $100 per pot isn't insane in my book. While the set is lovely, I couldn't bring myself to replace my currently functional set. I do like that it looks like it's possible to buy in stages, rather than having to buy the whole set at once.

As a professor, I have to agree with the negative reactions. I wish more students were in college to learn.

Regarding the "reusing for pet poo and trash can liners" argument: You'll still be able to use bags for pet poo, you'll just have to pay for them. Maybe the bags you purchase will be smaller or thinner. Same with trash can liners. Perhaps you'll find that you don't need to bag all of your trash in plastic; perhaps dry items can go in paper bags.

But arguing against banning free grocery store plastic bags (most of which are not reused, many of which never make it into landfills) because you don't want to pay for bags that you use is weak.

They feel clean, something that cheap motels never do. I'd sleep in one.
