I have a very similar vanity mirror situation and with lots of shiny brass trim and fixtures. This must have really been the shit back in the 90s! I just had to replace the faucet and was stumped as to what to do with the brassy mirror trim and light fixture. It was too big a job for me to take on a total reno at this time. I ended up painting the trim and stupid Hollywood dressing room light fixture silver for now. It's actually much better and less obvious than the brass was. My sink and vanity are separate from the rest of the bathroom so, for now, I just shut the door on that part of the brass-tastic bathroom. Before & After: Bringing a 1990s Bathroom Into 2013 |

Love! I know people like those big open entryways, but it does seem like a lot of wasted space to me. This seems like a great idea! Before & After: From Ceiling Space to Playing Space |

This is so nice and I wish I could have one! It would be quite an improvement over the long cord running from the computer to the tinny little speakers in the living room. Win: SONOS PLAY:5 and Bridge Holiday Giveaway |

I love, love, love this place! Warm, inviting, and it doesn't look staged. My favorite tour to date! I get a good sense of the place. Thanks for sharing your abode! Alex & Sarah's Traveler's Home House Tour |

The best part of this tour for me is seeing a home with baseboard heaters. I am always struggling with placing furniture in my condo because of those stupid things. This is a great example for me of just going for it and not worrying about the placement. Aaron & Wendy's Mid Century in Mayfair House Tour |

I think I've been in a similar house in Philly. It had a spiral staircase and each floor was a room; the kitchen being in the basement, the bedroom on the top floor. It didn't have fireplaces however. Nifty! Thanks for sharing your home! Susan's 1830's Style Small Home Small Cool Contest |

Oh, you are so lucky to have a dedicate parking place! I felt like my whole life was about parking for the few months I lived in SF. I can remember moving my car every few days and occasionally parking practically a mile away from my home! Yigit Pura's Modern Condo In The City House Tour |

Hey, I re-purposed a shelving unit like that white one you have. Mine was the larger one, but it fit perfectly in the dead space side area of my closet. Now there are items on shelves, instead of stacked on top of each other. Much easier to access. Just a suggestion. See Ya Later Ikea: Out with the New & In with the Old |

I use three Indian scarves from the 60s in my bedroom to hide my desk. I love them. I didn't know what to do with them for awhile (too bright and metallic to wear, really) until I realized they would look great hanging from the ceiling. I even decoupaged the cute 1960s box lid from the box they came in. And now I enjoy them instead of them languishing in a drawer or closet unseen.
