I went through a very similar situation. Here are some of the things that helped me... -Repaint in colors that make you happy -Frame pictures of family, friends, etc. and scatter them throughout the space -Frame personal mementos -Update furniture if possible (craigslist is great!) -Fresh flowers -A friend gave me some sage to do a cleansing ritual. It was a little hokey to me, but the ritual/ceremony of it actually did help me feel better. -I have a dog, and he was a very happy thing to come home to every day. So, if you're an animal person, and ready for that responsibility, a dog or cat can help immensely.
