If I can go to the MOMA and see a dot on a canvas and it is considered "art" why can't this be art? Should she have commisioned an artist and paid $5000 for him to do this? No b/c it's just a (pretty darned good) DIY project.

I love this space. I think it really works for this space. I also agree about all these close up shots.

@mojones--I definitely took a second look at the fighting penis people...ok maybe like 6 looks but whatever.

I kind of like these...depending what you use them for. If I had a bunch of art that needed frames, I'd do like modestalmond suggests and got to the dollar store. I've gotten matted black frames for $5-$10 at the Family Dollar. Maybe I don't know anything about frames but I can't think of many reasons to spend lots of $$$ on a picture frame.

This is more traditional than I (thought) I liked but it's gorgeous and I may be moving in soon. Beautiful!

@spottedteacup... It’s not about “getting” art. I'm not an art snob in any way, shape or form but art is art. I do know that it doesn’t have to make sense and you don’t even have to like it but the amount of work that went into it can still be appreciated. Don’t get so worked up, it’s just the internet, lol.

OMG my husband JUST suggested the Nacho Libre costume to me a few days ago since we have a chunky munky and we died laughing....but seeing it...excellent!! Too bad we live in Brooklyn when it'll be too cold. :(

@moreshooz--I LOVE telling people how little something cost me!! Best find--navy leather riding boots for $15 at the Goodwill--which was "expensive" but I love them and have worn them to death. I have a thrifting trip planned tomorrow too. I hope I find something awesome!

I also agree w/ Anastasia, lol. Aside from the personal hygiene. I have a baby who just started to crawl and can miraculously can reach EVERYTHING so picking up and floors are top priority, laundry aka the bane of my existence is always last. Dishes get done every night. Trash is the hubby's job and he doesn't take that out until I give him the super laser death stare.

TV shame? Please!! I don't understand this wave of people in this day and age wanting to pretend that they have nothing to do w/ technology. TV has been around for ages, why pretend it doesn't exist?

I named my son after his father, Luis Alexis--Louie as a nickname. Honestly I wasn't too thrilled about the name but it was my husband's dream to have his 1st son named after him and I wasn't going to take that away from him. Even though we had decided on this before he as even conceived I still made a list of boy's names when I was pregnant. I never found one that I loved besides Alejandro--thank goodness I didn't choose that name, thanks Lady Gaga!

Amazing work! Usually the term "recycled collage art" makes me think of some recluse who collects junk and makes hideous sculptures with it but this...is awesome.

I live in a top floor apt and it can get really unbearable. Most of the time the apt is actually hotter than outside. We did endure a few summers w/out an AC but 2 years ago we broke down and got one. I do not regret it one bit, (especially w/ a new baby) even when I get my sky high bill at the end of the month.
