If I was going to sit and enjoy it in a nice environment, I would pay about $3. A plain coffee to go shouldn't cost more than $1.50. I think it's very "cool" to hate the Keurig but it works great for me. I use a reusable cup/filter and I just scoop ground coffee that I buy at the supermarket into it. I use the Keurig machine so that I can have just one cup of coffee instead of dumping half the pot like I used to. For a home where only one person drinks coffee, it's perfect. I recently ran into this planning for Thanksgiving. It's me and my husband's first year hosting - We have a small house and a pretty big family. Our table seats 6 at the most. I planned on borrowing folding tables and renting chairs to make it work. To do this, I would still have to cut down the list drastically. I thought about waiting last minute to invite people in hopes that they would have other plans at that point. I ultimately decided I'd rather have everyone together and have no one feel left out... so my dream of an intimate sit-down has transformed into a buffet for 30 haha! But, I'm still happy with my choice - everyone deserves to be surrounded by friends and family around the holidays - I just couldn't exclude this time of year :) Party Hosting Tips: How Do You Keep a Guest List Small? |

If this is the night before your race, I would avoid whole wheat pasta and go with plain white. Sounds crazy but white pasta is easier to process and less likely to cause cramping (you don't want a lot of fiber). Also avoid green veggies (no broccoli, lettuce, etc.). Keep it very very simple. White pasta, little marinara... and a baked potato is always a safe bet. Eat early the night before so you have plenty of time to digest. Good luck! i tried a recipe (found on How Sweet It Is) where you use chicken breasts (salt and pepper the breasts before putting in the slow cooker). Add a bottle of bbq sauce and a bottle of beer. Comes out awesome! I'm going to try it with thigh meat now. I feel like shredded meat is such an ugly dish to serve, but it tastes so good! Brown rice syrup definitely makes it chunkier b/c it's so sticky. I also agree with the "not stirring" method. Good luck! How Can I Make My Granola Chunkier? Recipe Questions |

Love my Dansko clogs. My sister-in-law got a brand new pair real cheap at a flea market - must've fallen off a truck :) . They weren't her size but she couldn't pass up the deal (I think they were about $50). Lucky for me, they're my size! I actually think they're pretty unattractive, but started wearing them just because my mom always loved hers... well, I will never go back! I work at a stand up desk (because I hate the idea of sitting all day) and these are the only shoes I can wear to stand for 8+ hours without getting knee pain. They weren't super comfortable at first but once you break them in, they're amazing. Essential Kitchen Footwear: Dansko Clogs |
