We have a neato, and I agree with STH that it involves some preparation before vacuuming. After several failed attempts, we've finally figured out exactly what we need to move/hide so that the little guy doesn't get stuck (otherwise we come home to sad beeping from wherever it's gotten itself jammed). Personally, I'd rather just get out a vacuum and go to town, but there's definitely a benefit to programming the thing and not having to think much about it.

Re: noise factor -- it's kind of loud. We had it, the dishwasher, and the dryer going the other night and I had to shout at my fiancee: "I can't hear you over all the machines that are doing our housework!" First world problems, for sure. :)

I'm from Hawaii, and I agree that both Haupia and Mochi are great ideas! Butter mochi is always a hit -- here's a recipe. My personal favorite is the guava chiffon cake, which is easy to get in Hawaii at any Zippy's, but takes a bit of time to make at home.

Knees, that's a brilliant idea! I've been mixing raspberry jam into my Greek yogurt, so maybe almond butter and jam yogurt would keep me full for longer.

I buy my almond butter from the machines at the co-op in my neighborhood and at Whole Foods. There are few things I love more than almond butter and jam on chocolate chip pancakes.

I'm a really big fan of the setup that Sonja Teri is using in the second photo. I work from home, alone, but would love to share an office with a friend like this. (There's only so much talking to my cat that I can do. :))

Gorgeous! I love seeing what people can do with small spaces. I'm always so impressed with the creativity in creating storage and the illusion of there being much more space than you'd imagine.

That bathtub is to die for! My friends in London all have these lovely bathtubs with what I call the telephone sprayer, and they have the ability to make you feel like such a lady. Must say, though, feeling feminine in this house is likely not a problem -- what gorgeous ladies in a gorgeous home!

Speaking of latte art, this is pretty much the most adorable latte art I've ever seen. (I live in Portland and see a lot of beautiful latte art, but not adorable...)

Good lord, I love slow cookers. Thanks, VIHA for the idea about doing this for sweet potatoes -- I bet that would be great for ravioli fillings. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

I think this house is warm, inviting, and so elegant in a totally liveable way. And I love that it's in Beaverton! We just bought a house about 10 minutes from Beaverton and absolutely love the area...though, that said, it's rare to find a home with such personality, which means that this one is a testament to the great taste of these owners. Love it!
