After 5 years living in various suburbs of Paris, I can say without a doubt that I am neither a city girl nor a suburbs girl. We're currently planning our move to Haworth, West Yorkshire, a little village with cobbled streets, view of the rolling hills, 4 or 5 nice pubs, countless cafes and interesting little shops, just 4 miles from a larger (if not very nice) town and 30 mins drive from Leeds and Manchester. Incidentally, this is where the Brontë family lived, so there is ambiance galore, and the cottages ALL come with at least a front yard and a fireplace. I can't wait to swap concrete for stones and bricks, pollution for fresh air, and overpriced Starbucks muffins for locally sourced and produced scones. :D (and you can read all about Haworth here: http://bunniesandstripes.blogspot.fr/2013/03/making-plans.html)

I'm so glad I'm not the only one who finds this sad and horrid. Poor bunnies and poor taste.

I've never had a dishwasher and I don't really understand how people who live alone or with a girlfriend/boyfriend can be so shocked that we can go without. Just roll up your sleeves and grab a sponge, it takes 5 minutes...

I have those coasters!! I love them, but I'm too scared of using them because they are only cardboard, so the first little drip would damage them :(
I've been lusting after the floral duvet from urban outfitters for years... maybe in my next place!

Trend Prediction: What Do You Think is The Next Big Thing?

I'm finding cut flowers to be very therapeutic at the moment. I don't usually buy them but I think I need the freshness of them in this cold weather. Also, as I live in a drafty flat that's always cold, they are lasting forever :)
you can see them here: http://bunniesandstripes.blogspot.fr/2013/01/pick-me-up.html

I love that it's full of personality! Although I must say it does feel a little cold. Probably because I'm in a freezing cold country and not on the East coast!! Nice job.

Wait, a revolving bookcase??? This is fabulous! The light, the layout, all of it! What is behind the bookcase? Looks like a kitchen or a photo studio! You get my vote! (I'm in the international section)

Hi OwlgirlO! Yes the room is at an angle and it drives me crazy! (the living room and kitchen are the same) I hid my pillows because they're bright baby blue! haven't got round to splurging on some nice pillowcases yet...

Thanks for your comment!

I like in a cookie cutter apartment and (I hope) have sort of managed to make it look special by collecting unique/well made pieces of furniture. I'll admit some of them are too big for the room, but so what? It makes me feel glamorous and it makes the space feel special.

Thanks for all your kind messages! I'm the girl with the bunnies and you are all adorable.

The chandelier was bought second hand but it's originaly from 'Alinea', a French store sort of like Ikea. You could make something similar with paper though. I made a chandelier from a paper lantern for my living room recently, you can see it here: http://bunniesandstripes.blogspot.fr/2012/04/hairy-lantern.html

I took my first trip to Barcelona this Spring and was moved to tears when I walked into the Sagrada Familia. I'm not a religious person but nothing (even the guide's warning that we would be blown away) could have prepared me for what I saw inside. The outside is magnificent but it's really nothing compared to the colours and the feeling that envelops you when you go in. Definitely something I'll remember forever and something everybody should experience.
