I had a couple of years' worth of Cooking Light I had picked up from someplace or other (an aunt or somebody, I didn't pay for them) and finally got rid of them on Freecycle. They are a great resource and it felt good that someone else would use them instead of just throwing them in the recycling.

Haven't yet parted with my year of Cooks Illustrated but I think the day is coming!

Here are some of my requests:

-Favorite no-work meals--I call these stupid easy meals. One of my current favorites I call appetizer dinner, where you have pickles, olives, bread or crackers, cheese, and maybe some cooked meat.

-Food processor--for real, do I need one? What do you NEED a food processor for, and what can you do without?

I'm making cornish game hens! They were on mega sale after Christmas and have been sitting in my freezer ever since. Should be interesting, I've never made them before.

They're going with mashed potatoes, brussels sprouts, and wine.

Ok, when you say "on-demand molded plastic plates," it seems insane, but I would LOVE the no-dish-cleaning version of it actually described in the clip. Love it.

I like to eat breakfast a little bit later, after I start working, rather than when I first wake up. This is easy now because I work from home, but when I worked in an office I needed something that was cold or that I could make in the microwave. This would have been perfect as a better-tasting alternative to crappy instant oatmeal.

Don't be a jerk about not wanting to spend 10 minutes making breakfast.

I have two LED strands that both only lit halfway when I pulled them out of storage this year. I thought I could simply replace the first bulbs that were out but so far that hasn't worked--if anyone has any ideas on how to fix this, I would appreciate it!

I have a timing controlled thermostat and it's set to come up to daytime temp right when my alarm goes off--this usually means that the heat's actively blowing into the room right when I'm getting out of bed, which helps a lot with the warm bed/cold air issue.

I also like the bottled key lime juice. I buy the brand that has light green, opaque bottles with the little Florida Key scene on the front--it's significantly better than any other lemon or lime juice I've tried. Some of the lemon juices are really horrible.

@m.wall I always knew them as Monkeyballs. Apparently we are pretty lowbrow. :)

My Dad says that crust is where all of the vitamins are or, alternately, that it puts hair on your chest (he has two daughters and this did not help).
