Our master bedroom has a sloping ceiling with a very high vaulted side going down to a normal height on the other side. Because of the way the door opens into the room we had to put our bed on the normal height wall but this leaves us staring up at this huge high wall (with no windows.) I'm a bit overwhelmed as to how to decorate this space to make it feel not so wide and expansive. The room itself isn't huge but I feel like that wall is overshadowing us. Design Questions? Was recently in a number of furniture stores where they had entire lines of couches, loveseats, and recliners with built in cup holders. Some of them even lit up! *gag* They all looked like they had been yanked out of an RV. Who are they making these ghastly pieces of furniture for if 0% are interested in cup holders in their furniture? (and yes, I realize that is just 0% of people that took the survey...but still.) I had a huge collection of little people from the mid '60's. Of course, Mom got rid of them when I outgrew them. Wish I still had them now. A Little History of the Fisher-Price Little People |

The smallest place I've ever lived was 96 sq ft. (8X12) for 8 months but it had windows. I have a very special place in my heart for small places but not like this! Stacked in like cord wood and no windows. Yikes! Hope there is never a fire! Could You Live in a 16 Square Foot Apartment? |

I think finding some bold print throw pillows that incorporate the red but also add other colors will help you find a good accent wall color. I'm thinking navy, coral, gold, emerald, pale turquoise, and of course red, in various combinations would be great. Find some fabric that you both love and pull a wall color from that. Some tribal or ethnic looking prints would look amazing with your rug. The couch doesn't need to be a "color" in the room as it is a neutral and you can balance that with things like wood tables, dark wood picture frames, or even some brown baskets. Surely refinishing the original wood would not have been a more difficult project than covering the entire thing with tin foil? I think refinishing it would have shown off the interesting shape and craftsmanship of this piece much better. IMO Before & After: Foil Finish ChestRed Hen Home |

Honestly, it doesn't look lived in. It looks like it was put together for a photo shoot or purchased from a furniture showroom. You just need to add some life to it with personalized art and framed personal photos, books, plants, a cozy throw strewn over a chair, etc. These would all go a long way to transforming your room. Add some funky, eclectic throw pillows that don't necessarily "match" and add a few unexpected pops of color and texture. What's Needed in This Room? Good Questions |

My other thought is this...If people order from your company via catalog, then send them your catalogs. If people order from your company via the internet, do not mail them a catalog. They obviously know where to find you! Fall Catalogs: How Much is Too Much? |

The RH catalog is just absurd! I remember pulling it out of my mailbox and thinking, "You have got to be kidding me! Who is going to sit down and look at this monstrosity?" It made me tired and bored just looking at it sitting there without ever cracking it open. So unnecessary! Fall Catalogs: How Much is Too Much? |
