I have a 3.5 foot tall mirror I want to upcycle. Probably paint white and lean against the wall. I have another one that looks great leaned on top of a short bookshelf. :)

My husband and I sometimes watch a show while we eat dinner but we love to talk and cook and eat it together. I hope this will be a family tradition for the rest of our lives.

I don't mind it at all. we used a recycled brand at my gov. job and it's not the most fluffy stuff, but really, how often do you really wipe your butt? It doesn't need to sit on a pillow. ;)

What about sticking them all around a foam ball or two hung from the ceiling? I think that would be lovely. :)

totally true. These are all over craigslist and even sometimes autotrader. Once you know what to look for it's easy to spot. But the Paypal thing sounds rough. I'll be more careful for sure! :)

I love both! The scent of a natural home and the scent of light and lovely candles that exemplify scents that my husband and I love are perfect! I only use soy candles, though. No need to inhale excess petroleum! I have a giveaway on my blog right now for a lovely violet candle that I just got that smells divine!

Yum! I've never had a persimmon, but I have 4-5 on my counter of Hachiya persimmons. I was told they're ripe when they feel like sacs of jelly. I'm hoping I'm waiting long enough but not too long. Do you know about this or if Hachiya persimmons would work for this?

Depends on the book. An old obscure book, in the huge unkempt room of an antique store, will never be missed. I keep some, use some. Usually the ones I buy are specifically to use as a project. Never a really good book. I'd love to see some projects that use old books!

Yes or No? DIY Projects Made From Vintage Books

I totally agree with glitke! We all wanted the newest, coolest food product, at the expense of our health because of all the dyes, sugars, preservatives, and chemicals they pump into things. We wonder why there are so many more diseases and thus are having to relearn habits to treat our bodies better. I don't think it's something we have to 'worry' about, but just choices we decide to make for our good. I just learned that lip products often have parabens, carcinogenic products, etc in them that have been found in tumors and in out throats. I'm not "worried" about this, but I've decided that that sounds very reasonable and not outlandish at all, and thus I'm going to stop wearing most regular chapsticks, lip glosses and lipsticks, and instead buy beeswax and other natural alternatives. I don't need to have the reddest lips or most orange Cheetos to be satisfied and feel good. :)

I hear you all! Strange to say (and i know you're probably like 'suck it up!), I live in Southern California. Not LA, but the desert. It actually gets QUITE cold here. This morning it was 18 F.

My husband and I are renting a rather large 2 story house with vaulted ceilings and because he has been out of a job for almost a year now, we can't afford to run our furnace which takes FOREVER to heat up the house because of those darn vaulted ceilings. It's also a dinosaur heating system. Thus, we are like you. Haven't turned on our heater yet. We run around in slippers, drink hot chocolate and tea, and put mounds of blankets on our bed. :)

Do you know if it will be a very bad thing for us not to run it, because we don't have a way of insulating or heating our pipes. Do you think they will burst? Our lawn sprinklers are off and that's just what I'm worried about because we can't afford that either. :'P

I was surprised about computer monitors also. I wonder what could be fixed to make an electric bill lower? It would be nice to have it all on a system, that when you are out, all the devices 'power down.' :)

Which Electronics Should You Leave Unplgged?

I wish i could find a good alternative. We have a 2 story house with vaulted ceilings. We're rarely in a few of the rooms. Unfortunately those rooms connect to the stairs and other rooms, so it's tough to actually get our house warm in the winter without an enormous bill!
We're also on natural gas.
