It was an ugly job, but I patched a ceiling with similar damage myself oh, almost 10 years ago now, and some hairline cracks reappeared quickly but the rest has held. If you value your original plaster--which I do--I'd say it's worth it. Ya gotta tear out the loose bits, including cleaning out the cracks, then ... lets see, I think I remember spritzing it with water and troweling on plaster patch? But don't take my word for it. It's been a long time. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | LA Good Question: Covering Up a Cracked Ceiling? |

both of these products are useless. the bbs do not live just in the mattress. and what would you do, take a bedbuggy mattress, seal it up and continue sleeping on it? gross. Apartment Therapy New York | Allergy Luxe Bed Bug Barrier Bedding |

part of the problem with the couch color is a) the existence of that carpet and b) its nearly-matching color. if you put down a throw rug over the carpet in front of the couch and got contrast pillows, it might be better. Or you do that, plus slip-cover the couch in off-white canvas. i'm assuming the nice graphic painting hanging above the couch better reflects your taste. i think this looks like a great, comfortable, cared-for place and that the woman who lives here seems creative and like she'd be a cool person. I like her. I do. But, if we're judging people on their taste.... this one's a loser. The netting, the bad rugs, the beige-blue-pink-red living room. ditto, hotel, too new, too prefab. but that is one luscious and gorgeous bathroom sink. If the homeowner had anything to do with the design of that bathroom, they ought to do this for a living! Apartment Therapy New York | East #36: Colleen's Petite Pad |

wow, i agree that this is a tiny space for 2 people and has been done with an amazing minimum of clutter. i'm a little freaked out that there's no sofa, though. You always have to chill on the bed, like in a hotel room? I find that sort of depressing. Maybe you're young and you don't spend much time at home! right, there are good uses of space here but not much attention to detail. Why are those two doors in the breakfast bar different colors? And I love the banquette, but where's the table. Creative, but confused. Apartment Therapy New York | East #33: Kerry's Greenpoint DIY |

Yes, love the sofa, love the living room, the chandelier, the color combinations, the rugs, the zebra. Love. I think you also deserve points for having a very weird layout and making it feel ok. Is there really no wall between your bedroom and living room? And, bed facing kitchen? eek. In lesser hands, this floorplan could be a disaster. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Midwest #31: Suzi's L.E.S. This arrangement cannot be made to work. The height is just all wrong, and that flatscreen TV looks ridiculous on your vintage fridge. You should get a low table for the TV and move the fridge to being an accent piece in the corner. And also consider changing either the wall color or the chair color, which are both too similar to your floor color (though the chairs would be ok if the wall was different). And yes, as suggested before, white pillows in the same shape for the chairs, to pull in the fridge. Apartment Therapy Chicago | CHI Good Questions: Making this Arrangement Work? |
