I made the chai jars last year. They are gorgeous and were a big hit. I may make more this year! I did one big spice order from Penzey's and bought pretty jars from Container Store. I still have a few stashed away and love to make the tea!

So fun to see this posted here - I took Paule's class in that very kitchen this past April! I had such a wonderful day and would recommend it to anyone who would love to do a bit of food shopping and cooking a la francaise.

Oh, what I wouldn't do to win this food processor. It couldn't come at a better time!

I made these this past weekend. They were fantastic, but to me, there was one glaring omission: espresso in the ganache. I added instant espresso powder while preparing the ganache and it made for what I think is a much richer and deeper flavor for the brownie. They're delicious - very moist and dense, though I will say I didn't taste much of the mascarpone.

We made the transition at 3 years old in to the Pogo bed from Room and Board. We debated between the Pogo and the Ayers bed from Argington which is very similar. Ultimately, Room and Board won out because the Argington is never in stock!

We are using a simple Dex railing for now with no problems.

Love the bed!

Question: I looked through all of this week's favorite posts to find an answer to this question, but I couldn't find it there. (Maybe I didn't look hard enough?)

Which post does the beautiful orange and white bedding come from? Does anyone know who makes it?

Thanks!

Forgive me if I am the only one that feels this way, but I don't find this solution to be particularly attractive.

We have this lamp and I can't say enough good things about it. One of the nicest things is that it frees up significant real estate on each of our nightstands.

First off, I like the couch a lot. That said, I do feel that the room looks very disjointed. If you opt to go with the pretty gray color for the couch, I would definitely recommend changing the wall color and also getting a bigger rug that is more complimentary in terms of style and color. The traditional floral and traditional seafoam-y wall color don't really "go" in my opinion with the modern gray couch. Also, I'd recommend reframing your art and considering clustering more pieces together. The one framed piece I see on the far wall seems too small and gets lost where it is. Good luck!

Our cat took long luxuriant naps in the crib pre-baby. Once the baby arrived, the cat never set "paw" in the crib again. Two years and three months later, she still really wants nothing to do with our son. Just wait and see - It may never become an issue for you.

Javis Davis (javisdavis.com) makes custom crib bedding. While some of their fabrics are sort of foofy and over the top, there is plenty there to choose from that is simple and clean looking. Good luck!

MamaChilanga,

As much as I want to buy in, I *do* think you're being a bit too catty. For a minute, think about how much you love your own children -- Don't forget that with very few exceptions, every parent shares that same love for his or her own kids, too, regardless of household income or socioeconomic status.

They may have help, they may do things differently than you (and I) do, but to say that their big job is "birthing" and the rest is just details is, to me, unfair.

That said, I personally definitely see the trend here in NYC. Who else could afford to live here, go private and still own an apartment, especially in Manhattan?

I was intrigued when I saw a front-of-bike child seat online recently, so I went over to my local bike shop. They told me that they absolutely don't sell them, and that in fact in the 1970s, they were taken off the market due to safety concerns. Studies show that rear seats are safer than front-mounted ones. Until someone tells me otherwise, that's what I'll buy!

I highly recommend having a changing table. I know there are plenty of people out there who say they can do it on the floor or on the bed, but once your child is even remotely mobile and starts being able to roll, it is impossible to keep them in one place. Additionally, I don't know if you have back problems, but I do, and when I have to change a diaper on the floor and lean over so far - 5 or 6 times a day - my back is on fire! I strongly recommend having one! (And I love the Cariboo one shown above, if space is an issue). If you plan to get a dresser for the baby's clothes, it's very easy to find a dresser with the space for a changer on top, too - That's what we have. I figure once the kid is out of diapers, we can put storage baskets on top, and use it to keep toys and other things. Good luck!

Just lovely. Thanks so much for adding this to the AT repertoire. I hope it continues!
