not to pass judgement on this machine, but to give you another alternative to making your own espresso, i would recommend the Breville Double Boiler. I'd also wait for william sonoma to have a discount which would bring the price down enough to make it competitive to this machine's price.

i started off with the keurig...super easy and simple. never thought i would ever want an espresso machine. but as i got more into coffee, the more interested i got into the entire process of it. and if you're at that point, i think the breville is a better option. plus you feel more like a barista too (using the portafilter and steaming milk). :P

just my humble opinion. :)

is that even legal? i don't know if you want to be running extension cords all over your place. if it's even legal for them to not install outlets..you might have to make a deal with the landlord about getting them installed for your sanity later on and safety.

i've used foscams with great success. alot cheaper too. has plenty of features. depending on your router, installation can be a breeze or take a bit of work. less than $100 for each camera.

alarm system for your peace of mind. about $1 a day. worth it knowing my house is at least protected.

also install these wireless cameras..foscams are what they are called. get the iphone app and you can check in on your house whenever you're out. it also has motion detection where it'll take pictures and email it to you when it detects motion.

everyday. use it to read/surf/games it's just so easy and convenient for leisure use. for actual work, i still use my desktop and laptop. i have the ipad2..may have to pass on the 3 unless it's features are so awesome i can't resist. but i think i did okay from iphon3G to 4S. resisted the urge for the 4 when it came out.

i use crashplan. carbonite was the first i looked at and almost went with them but i use external HD's and they don't back that up. crashplan was what i ended up choosing after looking at all of those plans.
