If I had a small dog I would wash in the sink:). I agree with point about raw chicken:)

Dogs on furniture is big everywhere if you follow design sites. My dogs act like I'm trying to kill them when I give them a bath and yes I did try and train them. Thankfully they don't smell (short coats, natural diet). Otherwise none of these really apply to me...oh well...wish I had a fireplace:)

I'm Gen-X. I grew up gardening with my Mom. When I was putting myself through art school in my 20's I lived at home and to contribute to the house I took over the gardening since my Mom has bad RA and couldn't do it anymore. I know live in a tiny house, by the highway, with a huge yard...my landlords said I could do whatever I want and I have slowly been transforming the yard into a haven of flowers, veggies and shrubs. It gives me joy when I come home from my office job, it presents a nice inviting picture to my clients who come to my house for their portraits, and it gives me satisfaction to dig in the dirt and see results.

I'm an artist and work from home...the bedroom is my oasis from my work, so no personal artwork in there. Mirrors are forbidden in the bedroom, it's terrible feng shui:) I'm going to rearrange it soon so this article is helpful...thanks:)

And as to the post about small spaces and rooms being multi-use. The rest of my home us multi-use which is why it's sonimportant to have one refuge from everything else:)

I love portraits, but dont get something fussy and old fashioned, there are a lot of great contemporary artists out there. unless you live in Downton Abbey a John Singer Sargent type portrait doesn't work...IMHO.:)

Definitely agree that minimalism needs the richness of something like the floor to set it off.

I also love the subtle texture of the walls in the first image...gorgeous.

Hi!

And congrats on the beautiful new puppy!

I have recently added a new dog to my house and have found these comments very helpful! I second (or is it third) the notion that you have to give the older dog the alpha attention...just remember that the most alpha dogs in the pack are the humans...I forgot that a little the first week, put the dogs first and only when I realized what I was doing did they get comfortable...yes let senior dog do everything first in doggie land...but that still has to come after doing things first for yourself.

Good luck...they are both beautiful!
