In 1980 I purchased a Hickory Chair and it was stunning -- receiving many compliments and setting the tone for my interior design theme. The Hickory Chair survived the wear and tear of three active children for 14 years. The only reason I sold it was because I was moving out of state. At times I wish I still had the chair -- it was timeless.

First of all I would recommend removing the wallpaper -- it's hideous and it causes vertigo when coupled with the angled wall.

I suggest using a beautiful, chic neutral color for the walls. This past weekend I attended a seminar at Home Depot and saw this great paint color -- Beach Sand -- which is part of the Martha Living collection. It has greyish, greenish, stone-colored undertones. There is a finishing paint that is part of the Martha Living collection called Potter's Clay. That would look nice on the wall with the window, and use the "silk finishing" technique as described in the Martha Stewart Kit at Home Depot.

The window sills would look great painted black, and I would also suggest black shelving on the angled walls. The Container Store has some nice shelves in varying depths that are part of their Elfa collection. The black shelves would be stunning with the Beach Sand paint as a backdrop.

My sister has an old-fashioned kitchen, and she replaced her full-sized refrigerator with a unit that fits under the countertop and looks like a stainless steel cupboard. It really opened up her kitchen.

I purchased a spice tower made by Prodyne at The Container Store, and it is great because you can stack a number of acrylic spice bottles on a small revolving carosel. You can purchase additional spice containers for about a dollar each, adding to the storage space capabilities in a small space.

There is a great new floor covering that looks like wood planking but is much less money and easy to install. It is similar to vinyl flooring, and it is available at Home Depot.

really a unique design

I came up with two similar recipes - the pork and the slaw -- and boy did I get raves at our family party. Afterward, everyone was asking for the recipes, and they said they felt better after eating the dishes.

I absolutely love Sheila Lukins. She is a role model to me. I first learned about her when someone introduced me to the Silver Pallette when I had my restaurant and catering business. Then, Sheila went through the ordeal of a stroke just before I did, so again she became my role model. My favorite food is exotic lettuces and the salads made with them. I prefer them to dessert. I also adore garlic and actually love its "after taste." Please consider me for the giveaway. I would be honored.

I hate my plastic hangars and wondered what to get next. These hangers look like winners to me. And I love the fact they are green.

Wow, I have a flood of memories of eating soondubu jjigae with my Korean fiance, who lost his battle with bile duct cancer on July 2. We loved the type with a mixture of assorted seafood and the cracked raw egg that is stirred in at the last minute. I've been looking for a recipe for a good make-it-at-home version of soondubu. Thanks for sharing.

I really like the idea of something small that packs a lot of power. Since my late twenties I have been plagued with fibromyalgia, systemic lupus with an MS and RA overlap, and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Housekeeping is difficult at best, so I am always looking for ergonomic power tools that allow me to get my work done, and not put extra strain on my already compromised neuro-muscular system. This vacuum looks like it would fill the bill well.

The Jasmine tea that comes in pearls is so delicate and healing. I also like the Rooibus tea. It is loaded with nutrition, has a light tartness, and is so soothing.
