Korean food is my favorite comfort food. In 1998, I worked at a Korean acupuncture school, and all the food served in the cafeteria was Korean. One of the Korean "interns" recommended bibimbap one day, and it was love at first sight. The banchan served at that school was amazaing and beats anything I've eaten at Korean restaurants, from L.A. to New York. Every time I even look at pictures of that dish it reminds me of the wonderfully kind people I met while working at that school, and my sweetheart, who was one of the Korean acupuncturists I met there. In 1980 I purchased a Hickory Chair and it was stunning -- receiving many compliments and setting the tone for my interior design theme. The Hickory Chair survived the wear and tear of three active children for 14 years. The only reason I sold it was because I was moving out of state. At times I wish I still had the chair -- it was timeless. A Visit to Hickory Chair Hickory, North Carolina |

I came up with two similar recipes - the pork and the slaw -- and boy did I get raves at our family party. Afterward, everyone was asking for the recipes, and they said they felt better after eating the dishes. I absolutely love Sheila Lukins. She is a role model to me. I first learned about her when someone introduced me to the Silver Pallette when I had my restaurant and catering business. Then, Sheila went through the ordeal of a stroke just before I did, so again she became my role model. My favorite food is exotic lettuces and the salads made with them. I prefer them to dessert. I also adore garlic and actually love its "after taste." Please consider me for the giveaway. I would be honored. I love this little paring knife I found at a thrift store. It says "Laguiole Inox France." It fits my hand like it was made for it, and the handle is bright yellow, which brightens up the kitchen. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Thursday Giveaway: Linden Knife Rack |

Our family loves a quinoa salad that is tossed with black olives, fresh corn cut from the cob, diced tomatoes, green onions or chives, minced garlic and a light viniagrette. It is easy, nutritious, and works well at potlucks. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | How to Cook Quinoa |

Wow, I have a flood of memories of eating soondubu jjigae with my Korean fiance, who lost his battle with bile duct cancer on July 2. We loved the type with a mixture of assorted seafood and the cracked raw egg that is stirred in at the last minute. I've been looking for a recipe for a good make-it-at-home version of soondubu. Thanks for sharing. Apartment Therapy The Kitchn | Cooking Korean: Soondubu jjigae |

Faith, God bless you and yours on your wedding day. I love the idea of the lemon ice cream. Once upon a time in college I made one very similar to the recipe that you have and the guys at our parties couldn't get enough of it. My mouth waters just thinking about it. Best wishes. I really like the idea of something small that packs a lot of power. Since my late twenties I have been plagued with fibromyalgia, systemic lupus with an MS and RA overlap, and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome. Housekeeping is difficult at best, so I am always looking for ergonomic power tools that allow me to get my work done, and not put extra strain on my already compromised neuro-muscular system. This vacuum looks like it would fill the bill well. Apartment Therapy New York | Dyson Stowaway Vacuum Giveaway: 3 Days to Go!#comments |

I purchased a can of hearts of palm recently that were in a "marked down" basket at the supermarket. I've used them in salads, and now I am hooked. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. I've added them to organic fancy romaine lettuce blends with frisee, radicchio and grated carrots. Then I chop up green onions, slice baby cucumbers, and sprinkle the salad with a little grated cheese. The salad is adorned with either Ranch dressing, or homemade olive oil and blackberry vinegar, and sprinkled with Kosher salt and fresh cracked black pepper. Delicious.
