I love this place. Very well lived! :)
My favorites:
1) the tooth-on-a-string on the doorknob ... I may have to copy this.
2) the bathroom floor tiling ... wonderful.
3) the separate screened porch (?) ... not exactly sure what to call it, but I like it.

I take one of two avenues: either I check in and leave the phone alone for the rest of the meal, or I wait until the other person whips it out and I take that as the cue that it's okay. I'm not offended unless I'm looking at the other on the phone more than conversing with me ... and I don't allow my usage to interfere with others unless I know it's cool, I tell them it'll be quick (quick snapshot of food maybe), or if Mom calls (one missed emergency call cemented this rule).

I was in New Orleans this weekend and spotted a lady with a leashed cat ... I was pretty amazed. But that cat was having a ball, and didn't seem to be bothered by the leash at all. I gather it's like most things ... get the cat accustomed young, you're okay ... attempt at several years old, good luck.
