I used to never celebrate my birthday and hated being the center of attention, but after an awesome 30th sleepover thrown by my friends, I've had a party ever since. I love hosting and being surrounded by my friends and, as host, I'm busy coordinating so never the center of attention. I don't even say it's my birthday in the invite, but someone (my best) usually spills it. Anyway, throwing a party for myself ensures that I get exactly the kind of cake I want ;-) Grown Up Birthdays: What Does a Party Mean to You? |

Oh wow! We were planning a trip to this very same villa for next summer, but now it seems pushed to 2014. I don't know if I can wait that long... One Week in Tuscany La Casa di Cacchiano, Monti in Chianti |

I rent in a beautiful and safe neighborhood, and my small building is nestled between two $1M+ homes, so I get to look out at their beautiful yards. My rent is lower than what I would pay monthly in association fees and taxes on a similarly sized and located condo, and I don't worry about upkeep. I do have to pay for laundry, but I just run accross the street to my friends' place and do it there while I sun myself in there yard. What Amazing Perks Do You Have as a Renter? Reader Survey |

I spent two years prepping on that butcher block, and it really is as awesome as it looks. Chris, your place looks lovely! Love the new watercolors, but what happened to your old nightstands? I loved those! Chris's Sunny & Small Student Apartment in Ann Arbor House Tour |
