I think "too far" is posting fetal sonogram photos online. Aren't some things private anymore? Like the inside of your uterus?

Congrats on moving in :) It's a wonderful thing to share the space with someone you love. (there's no need to be so judgmental about it!)

My now husband and I moved in with eachother to a new apartment after a few months of dating...then a year later we moved to a rental house, and now we're in the process of moving again...the number one thing I learned was to organize EVERY space together! AKA: I always organized the kitchen and my husband would have no clue where anything would or should go--he wanted to help out, but it made him frustrated that he wasn't sure exactly where things went. Now, we learned, when we move into a new space, to organize and make decisions about where the silly stuff goes together.

Also, don't hang up paintings or artwork until you've lived there for a few weeks! You may need to rearrange furniture, or whole rooms, and you don't want to have a million holes in the wall.

Mostly, enjoy it--it's a magical time getting to know each other in that new sense, as roommates! Our first meal in a new place is usually take out on the floor, on a blanket :)

I'm a middle school teacher. I LOVE handwritten notes from the kids most of all! Besides that, giftcards, chocolate, scarves, I love! Not a fan of candles...and homemade food gets thrown away...sorry, but I can't eat sweets!

Most of all, we just want to feel appreciated!

I loved, "I Like Killing Flies" about Shopsin's (sp?) in NYC, also, as a teacher, and history lover, Paperclips, a film about students learning about the Holocaust.

LIBC: I am a teacher too, and I 100% agree with you! Giftcards are AWESOME. We also love handwritten notes from the KID. Not food, or candles, or incense or anything. The "Teacher's gift" concept needs to be re-addressed, as a whole, haha.

I love this for little kids! Also, soap in various shades of one color, and bagged up all pretty would make a great shower favor.

@TEQUILA RED, I'm an Olivia and 27 years ago, when I was born, there was NONE in my general vicinity of Long Island. Now, it's the 4th most popular name! I sort of hate that. But, yes...I got the Olivia Newton-John comment ALL the time!

I was JUST saying how Shutterfly needs a "tag" option (like on Facebook), so we can search our fam photos by person (or, ala Polyvore, by outfit? Ha)...I'm intrigued by this new website, but all my pics are on SF, so we'll see...

Needle, thread, and some patches to sew? or an embroidery hoop, fabric, and thread? Or, maybe that's for the mom, haha.

I've been doing this for years! Get the printer-fabric-paper, design your photos, and print them out on the fabric from your regular printer...then do whatever you please with it. I've made so many quilts this way, and they come out beautifully. I use EQ Printable Paper, BTW. It's cotton and comes out great.

We keep a dulcimer and a fiddle as the main staple of our mantle--we, of course, remove them when we actually have a fire in the fireplace, which is close to never.

I love this, as I am the one who helps my grandmother on the computer, too! It is nervewracking at times for her (like last week, when she thought Google was mad at her because she didn't like their new look), but I've taught her these shortcuts, which you wrote about here, and they do make life easier for her. She's learned how to shop, use Netflix, look up everything (EVERYTHING!)...I'm so proud of her!

And my grandfather won't go anywhere near the "machine"!

I used Plastic Jungle for the first time this year, sold back 4 cards, and got a check a few days later in the mail for $128. I was skeptical at first, because like...getting checks in the mail for used giftcards...? But, it's real, and it worked! It's also a cool place to buy gift cards at a discount, though often the amounts are high--however, if you're going to spend at a place like Home Depot anyway, why not buy a $250 giftcard for $220 and save a little?
