i say go for it! but i'd be very picky about finding the right shade of pink. maybe don't even call it pink, but rather search for "dusty rose" or "mauve"? mauve can be just as much of a neutral color i think. and you can always go the opposite way and accent(or tone down) your pink couch with black white or gray pillows/throws. i'm currently going through a difficult breakup and the idea of burning sage - or anything that's believed to cleanse or calm, whether physically through the smell or mentally through the very act of doing it, sounds amazing. and i'm not "spiritual" or superstitious by any means. i recently got this mid century modern style couch from Urban Outfitters. took forever for it to get here(LONG, frustrating story). but once it was here i loved it. only thing is, because the fabric is tweed, it's turned out to be one giant scratch post for my cats :( Picking The Perfect Couch: A Timeline of Couches That Didn't Last |

have to agree with HINMELB, i liked the before too. i probably would've finished it with a clear glossy coat and put on some matte chrome drawer pulls to go with the decayed-urban look. Before & After: Rescuing a Dumpster Dive Dresser Art is Beauty |

i use my IKEA bag as laundry bag and it works great(city living = no washer dryer in the apartment). i've actually gotten quite a few "why didn't i think of that" from people at the laundromat. IKEA Goes Blue Bag Loco |

i'm sure most couples will appreciate having extra rooms/areas in their home where they can retreat to when they want some alone time. but if the person i'm in a relationship with feels they need so much personal space that they require a separate address, i would be wondering why they wanted to be with me in the first place. LOVE YOUR PLACE! i'm not a huge fan of having my sleeping quarters out in the open either but after seeing your post i now think i could be persuaded :) your art collection is impressive and well-edited, the placement and choice of furniture speaks volume about your style. i also love how you made the space your own, not confining to each room and its intended purposes. thanks for the inspiration! i agree with deweydefeatstruman96, i personally much prefer the rustic charm of the exteriors before the transformation - though i can understand the reasoning behind the bright and cheerful makeover. Before & After: A Colorful Eco-Friendly Renovation for a Family of 29 |

I agree with Christine M, the cleaning can wait until we're done enjoying the meal!! Besides, cleaning as i go sort of distracts me from cooking and have resulted in overcooking/burning my ingredients. I like a clean kitchen as much as the next cook, but I'd rather make a mess and clean that mess all at once at the end than to worry about cleaning each little thing as I go. Clean Up! where do i start.. i would love for the next place i move into not be owned by a SLUMLORD. where requested repairs are made in a timely manner, with no lies, no being dicked around, or retaliated against by having the rent raised on us. What's on Your "Next Apartment" Checklist? |
