Well I have two thermometers and did the adjustments to both of them. For years I found the thinner meat thermometers more accurate. The thick or bulky ones I found unaccurate. My thinnest one was able to read 212 F in constant boiling water on the stove and only 34 F in ice water. The thicker meat thermometer was also set at 212 degrees F in the constant boiling water but when I put it in the ice cold water it would only go down to 42 degrees F. So am I right when I say the thinner thermometers are more accurate?
