This appears to be the exact same type of front room as I have in my house...I moved my couch to the wall (where the person taking the picture is), and I painted the door in a faux wood grain, and it actually looks really cool. On the accent wall, I wall-papered for impact in a really big graphic design and I have a console type piece of furniture there for keys, scarves, and purses. I moved my chair to the left of the entrance when you walk in and did a bench under the window. It flows nicely and is really livable. Hope this helps!

This place is like a dream. And in total contravention of previous commenters, it looks to me like you worked very hard to find all of these elements. And it comes together flawlessly.

I might rethink the red art above the bed...it appears to emphasize the lack of symetry in the windows and it does not appear centered between the windows...a mirror hung higher and horizontally may be better if you want something there. If you use two panels, each swept to the outside of the window and hung from rods on the inside of the window frame, it may give some balance. I would be wary of painting the duct because sometimes that can make the ceillings looks low, rather than make it blend in...expecially if you don't have high ceilings to begin with. Just my humble opinion.

I like it---its comfotable, yet modern-with a little funk.
